I have been calling for the past 4 weeks trying to make my child a appointment. every time I call it goes to voice mail saying no one is available. I received 2 call backs hours after I've left a message. I leave a message and send it every time I called so around 8-10 times. this place is not professional and I do not recommend to anyone. if you or child have state insurance look on the back of your insurance card and call superior vision and enter a different zip code then Chestertown when prompted and they will give you other options near by.

On December 19, 2024 I went to an appointment at Dependable Eye Care. I had an eye exam purchased eye glasses. The eye exam and the doctor were great even the initial purchase was seamless. It was all down hill after that. I was informed my glasses would arrive in January. I called in January - they hadn't arrived yet. I called again in February - they hadn't been shipped. I called again in March multiple times - no answer. I tried going to the business in person multiple times they were closed. I tried to call in April - no answer. I drove there on April 18, 2025 went inside asked about my glasses. I was informed they were still in shipping. I wanted a refund. First I was refused a refund and told to wait for them to come in. After a heated discussion with the owner I finally was able to get a refund. Although she said she would have to hold $10 for the exam so I only got $120 back, but also stated she had not charged my insurance yet. Why not charge insurance if you "ordered" the glasses. Why would it take months for glasses to come in but they never came? Any place else you go they arrive within a week or two. Did she ever order my glasses? Was she expecting me to forget I spent money on glasses and I paid in full. I will not be going back. There have been multiple people in the area with a similar issue even the owner herself stated some clients have waited up to 6 months for their glasses. I know I got most of my money back but I feel like the public should be aware of this business before making a purchase here.

Been going here for years and in the beginning they were amazing. Seems, as time has gone by, the service aspect seems to have fizzled out. Tried to get my annual exam done and lime others one here, got 0 call backs. Even attempted to text, as I had done before, and nothing. Doesn't change the fact that they are good people, just the service and dependability has fallen off. I decided it was time to cut bait and take my business elsewhere

I love the staff and Dr at Dependable Eyecare. They are always friendly and professional and take their time in helping you pick the best frame. I've been using them for a few years now. I took my 13 yr old granddaughter there and she must have tried on 50 different frames. Rosie was very patient and extremely helpful. My granddaughter left feeling very excited about getting her new glasses!

Absolutely the Best Eye Exam complete and can get Glasses right here and so reasonably priced. No better bargain Eyecare and locally owned.Kudos to Rosie, Linda and Marie..And Dr.Michael Robin excellent...LOVE THIS PLACE and so will you and your family.

I have read some reviews that are not so nice and feel it is the individual who has the problem, not the workers. I was in there quite a while but not because they were slow. The office was busy but I was made to feel I was the only person in there. They were VERY personable & extremely helpful. (They even waited while I texted my daughter in Hawaii for her opinion!) My glasses were quite costly but still lower than I have ever paid AND they were willing to establish a payment plan! I will refer EVERYONE to them! Thank you DEC!!!

Fairly nice people and office but long wait. My glasses, which are very flimsy, cost $480! But with a discount and my insurance, well over $200. And the prescription wasn't very accurate, so I have to get another one elsewhere so I can buy other glasses, also elsewhere, which i can see out of better. Just 2 months after dealing with DEPENDABLE.

I was very displeased to be treated so rudely by the woman who schedules appointments. Especially after such a pleasant greeting and brief conversation with the receptionist. Upon the call transfer and being asked what time of day I'd like to make an appointment, the woman's immediate comment was "so you don't work".... Excuse me, yes I do work. "Well I just assumed you didn't because your appointment time didn't matter". Mam' like I said I do work, actually I have my own business!. "Okay, is that Medicaid insurance?" PARDON ME!!! No it's not thank you I have private insurance. Needless to say I will be taking my business elsewhere. I was trying to keep it local but out of town I go. I would NEVER treat any of my customer's this way! What has happened to professionalism and the value of customers? Without customer's our businesses cannot be profitable, let alone reputable.
