1 star isn't deserved. I agree with these other terrible reviews about the bad customer service. They must be trained to believe that the customer is the enemy because they treat you that way. My 86 year old father was within their 15 min grace period, maybe off by a minute by the time the desk person informed the Dr., but refused him his visit. Why??? No one else in the waiting room. They were rude from day one and seemed to want to give you a hard time! Then they asked me if I wanted to reschedule?! I wouldn't reschedule with these people if you paid me. I wouldn't trust them either with my father's eye care. There are way better eye practices out there. Enter at your own risk!
I was hesitant at first in thinking about how much unpleasantness I wanted to express. But Ana and Katelyn Russ's review confirmed my experience. Dr. Mainolfi is the worst optometrist I have ever been serviced by.
After verbally acknowledging my astigmatism in the Summer, driving became very difficult upon the Daily Savings Time Change. I work until 9pm every night, sometimes arriving home around 10pm to 12am. The route I drive is typically lit with street lights so I have no issue. But occasionally straight from work I also take the backroads to visit my long distance boyfriend, and/or sometimes there would be a detour requiring me to do so. I have also since moved recently, and no longer take a route with street lights.
After Daylight Savings Time, it was especially very difficult for me to drive at night even as early as 6pm. I thought maybe my anxiety was through the roof, so I upped my anxiety meds. I thought that work, as they were greatly helping in other areas. But I kept seeing cars at night and would instantly panic when the lights would flash in my eye, completely blinding me on the road. This happened constantly whenever I took a backroad or not lit street area. Cars as far away as six feet down, would appear as if they were right up in my eye with how close the lights appeared. This was scaring me a lot and it got to the point I could barely drive at night without the knee jerk reaction to swerve to the left whenever another car drove past me.
I called the center again and explained that in the day time I could see fine, but night time driving was a very scary thing, and I wanted to have my prescription looked at. I explained how bad my astigmatism had gotten, and the front desk ladies were very nice in discussing with me how they would explain that to the doctor and even offered to bill my new exam at a discounted rate.
By the time I met Dr. Mainolfi again, he did the eye exam and then proceeded to tell me "There is nothing I can do for you about brand new headlights" multiple times. I asked him if there were contacts for an astigmatism or any additional features for my glasses I could modify. And he simply told me that with my anti-glare and bluelight, I have the highest performing glasses for my issue.
Low and behold last week, I come to find out they DO make contacts for an astigmatism.
I went to go order some online and the center gave me both a very puzzling email and phone call, letting me know that my prescription has no notations of one. I kindly let them know about experience with Dr. Mainolfi, and how he at least (bare minimum) verbally acknowledged I had one, and I asked if they would give him a call.
They let me know that there is in fact a special test for an astigmatism and special measurements I needed to obtain said contacts.
I entertained the thought of going back to Dr. Mainolfi and I informed the front desk that I needed astigmatism contacts. I was met with the same conclusion of, "You don't have an astigmatism" because the doctor never notated that I had one. Even if I wanted his crappy service again, he wasn't even available.
I am deeply angered by the fact I could have died in a car accident at the rate I was driving with how disturbing my vision has gotten, and I simply had a doctor that refused to listen to me. And also lied to me about the quality of care I could have been receiving. This is deeply upsetting.
Much appreciation goes to Amazon for my $10 polarized sunglasses which has kept me alive. I honestly cannot say the same for the man that is supposed to listen and address my concerns. We use our eyes to do so many things in life. And keeping my on the roads like this has put myself and others in danger.
I received a text that said my glasses were in and they were open till 7:00. Got there at 6:45 and the lights were off. Poor customer service. The rest of the experience was good. Just bad evening planning.
made an appointment weeks ago. was supposed to receive a call for confirmation, never received that call. i call the day of to confirm the time and they say not only do i not have an appointment today, but apparently it was scheduled on the wrong day and now instead of apologizing and correcting it, they tell me that i just cant book an appointment. in 20 years of customer service i've never seen anything like this. not one time was i apologized to. just completely unprofessional. i wouldnt go there even if they offered me a free exam.
Dr. Mainolfi is wonderful! Been going here for years, travel just for them. Plus cheaper prices than other places. Def worth a try even if you have to submit your receipts!!
Had an emergency with my contacts and Jesus was very helpful making sure we were accommodated. Will be going here for any issues in the future. Good spot
I have been going here for over 2 years now. There are 6 people in our family and we are all patients. I have never had an issue with the doctor nor the staff. In fact, because my one son is constantly breaking his glasses and we are always in there, they know him by name. They do get busy and sometimes under staffed, but this is not the employees fault. We never have had an issue with appointments running late. When you call there is a long wait to get through which is frustrating, my main reason I'm giving it 3 stars. Over all, I would highly recommend this vision center. Great service and great prices.
Very good service, friendly and helpful. The doctor is nice. No hassles
and the prices are not bad. But the glasses themselves leave a little to be desired. They are heavy and not as clear as they could be in certain areas. Although the center is good about doing adjustments on the frame for you.
