I booked a complete eye exam and provided my vision insurance details upfront. During the visit, the doctor recommended dilation but informed me it wasn't covered by my insurance at their facility--despite it being covered at other hospitals I've visited. I was asked to pay out of pocket or skip the dilation. This lack of transparency was disappointing, and had I known earlier, I would have chosen a provider that fully accepts my insurance. When I questioned this, I felt Dr. Chen rushed through the rest of the appointment.

Great doctors but the staff NEVER answers the phone when called or returns messages. I have been a patient there for years and it continues to be a problem. I recommend calling the Rockville office for help.

Hard to get in touch with them first, and then before anything else, they ask you a million questions about how they'll get paid before even asking what your medical issue is. Front desk/lady answering the phone is rude and has an attitude. If she hates her job, she shouldn't take it out on prospective patients.
