Been going here for over a decade, have always had excellent service. I've been seen on time consistently for my annual appointments. I've also had really fantastic service by the gentleman who adjusts and repairs the frames. I went in today, got lucky and was seen immediately for a frame fix and was out the door within 15 mins. Sometimes they can be quite busy, so I don't expect that speed each time, but sure appreciate it when I get it!

One star. Worst experience at Montgomery Village Eye Center today. Scheduled my mom's eye exam directly on their website last week, but when we arrived on time, both of us taking off work, they claimed no appointment existed because they 'couldn't confirm' it due to a wrong phone number. They had her email but the manager lied, saying they don't email and emails are automated, I've emailed them info before and they've used it right there. No apology, no effort to squeeze us in, even though I had insurance details ready. Receptionist shrugged it off like it was nothing, and the office manager acted annoyed, prioritizing other patients while dismissing us. When she finally said to the receptionist to just reschedule, she walked away mid-conversation. As we left, declaring we'd never return, the receptionists looked at each other and literally laughed at us. Zero customer service or empathy, avoid this place if you value your time.

My family and I have been going to the Eye Center for years. I have been a patient of Dr Miller and Dr Khan, they are great! The staff is very nice and professional. I appreciate the time and care the Eye Care Specialties Team give us, when selecting our eye ware. Lyons Family

I recently got new insurance and needed to switch eye doctors. I had planned to visit this practice, but after reading numerous negative reviews, I've decided not to schedule an appointment. It seems the front desk staff may need improvement in customer service, as this could lead to the practice losing potential patients

Last December I had an eye exam and ordered two pairs of glasses, nothing spectacular, but what they had in stock. I received a call less than two weeks later that they were ready for pick-up. Great! I went to pick them up and was told only one pair was ready. The pair that was ready did not have the right focal distance but I was told to try them out and they could make adjustments if they were still a problem when I came back to pick up the other pair. I never received a call that the second pair was ready and I never remembered to call during their open hours until several weeks ago. It took multiple calls and several days of back-and-forth before the office manager called me and told me I had picked up my second pair of glasses and there was nothing else they could do for me. Great; no second pair of glasses and frames with a useless set of lenses. I asked if patients had to sign that they had picked up their glasses and I was told no. During this entire exchange the office manager was rigid, unwilling to consider the possibility that this was their error and, to the point, unwilling to put into place a system that would prevent this from happening again. We've advised our insurance carrier and credit card company, disputing the charges. We've been made whole and the insurance and credit card company have been made aware that they may want to scrutinize activity from this office. In conclusion, this was an exceptionally unpleasant experience and we will not be returning to a practice we have been going to for more than 15 years because of the actions (inactions) of their office manager. The damage is done. My only ask is that they put in place a system to prevent this from happening to any other patients.

Dr. Rubin is an amazing ophthalmologist whom our family has been seeing for eye exams for many years. However, in the last couple of years, there have been changes in the office and it starts to feel different. I went in again and there was this one lady at the front desk who was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I approached the front desk to request a printout of my contact lens prescription as suggested by Dr. Rubin, she insisted I had to pay for both a contact lens exam and a glasses exam, even though I hadn't requested a glasses exam, and my glasses prescription was still valid from four months ago. I paid, but requested explanations. Despite explaining my insurance coverage and situation, she remained adamant, refusing to listen and even declined to provide my prescription print out, citing distraction from billing inquiries. She then callously added, "You contact your insurance. If nothing else I can help you. You can be out of here." When I suggested Dr. Rubin come out to explain, the lady at the front desk callously retorted, "Dr. Rubin doesn't own the business. It is what it is; you have to pay for two exams." This further added to my disappointment and frustration, as it seemed to dismiss my concerns entirely. Feeling frustrated and disappointed, I requested Dr. Rubin's presence myself, and he and another front desk staff member clarified the billing procedure and explained changes in my insurance policy. Despite this, I still questioned the necessity of double exams, especially given the recent glasses exam. While Dr. Rubin is excellent, the behavior of one team member left me feeling disrespected and dismissed, tarnishing the overall experience.
