My experience with Dr Thompson was. Amazing. She made me feel at home and she was very detailed and took her time explaining everything to me. I would recommend anyone going to their office Customer Service is 100%.
About to make my annual visit to Dr. Thompson! She's very nice and explains what she's doing. We had a nice convo and that's important to me. Some doctors can be so rigid that it makes you not want to go back, but really enjoy her bedside manner. The staff is, shall we say, focused and not very talkative, but once you engage them, they are very nice and helpful. They have a large variety of frames and products right there on the premises and will get your prescriptions back in a week or so. Effortless process since they have everything right on hand! Easy-peasy!
Unfriendly, no greeting or voluntary assistance. I exchanged my frames once, chose frames that were less than & was advised after the purchase that I would get store credit for $80 what am I going get from this store for $80. Good customer service should have advised me if that before choosing cheaper frames. Now I have this credit, and I don't want to Ever do business there again. Worst customer service I've experienced in 50 years. Also the credit isn't showing in there system yet, after 3 weeks. TERRIBLE!!
I had a great experience here. Dr. Thompson (the father) was very friendly and knowledgeable and explain everything clearly. The staff worked with me quickly when I wanted to make a change in my new lenses.
The only downside I can think of is their billing department. I had an issue that was confusing and seemed to be in conflict with what I understood regarding my insurance, but there is not an option to speak to someone in billing. The employees could only email the person from billing and it took her awhile to get back before resolving the issue. However, I feel that's more of a knock on the billing department than the practice. I'd still recommend this place.
I just moved here from Florida and had it's the first time I have vision insurance in a long time. So I was shopping around and came across Thompson Vision Care for a checkup and I had a wonderful experience. Dr. Thompson (the father) was extremely knowledgeable, and I had a speedy appointment. I didn't feel like anything was left out and there was no wait time. Overall, it was a pleasant experience for a newcomer like me. Thank you Thompson VisionCare!!!
Dr. Thompson is so precise and meticulous when it comes to my eyes and I personally take this is a good thing. I love that she's so particular when it comes to the healthiness of my eyes. After all, we only get one pair of them. They have such a huge variety of glasses to choose from. I'm absolutely in love with that. Dr. Thompson also is very engaging and personable with me and I greatly appreciate that. I may only see her once a year but I greatly appreciate it and everything her office does for us, she's phenomenal. So elated I found someone with a genuine passion for their job. Thank you Dr. Thompson, see you next year.
Great doctors but poor customer service among staff. I have been going to Dr. Thompson for years now, and she's now even my daughter's eye doctor. As much as we love her the staff at the eye care center are the complete opposite. I ordered glasses through them, had to come back because it was off. It's always hard to find a time on Saturdays to go there as we live in Silver Spring and we always have something going on on Saturdays. Well anyway, since my glasses needed adjustment and the insurance company said they can take care of it, it has been weeks and they always promise to call back, the first time was to update me if the insurance was going to take care of the re-do of my lenses, which they never do. I had to call again today, but they have not received the glasses back and they always say "well call you" and I really don't trust that. I have been waiting to get these glasses as I can't wear contacts during allergy season. Their customer service is subpar. I wish they value their customers more. I'll continue to see Dr. Thompson but order contacts or glasses somewhere else for sure.
May 30, 2018 Review Update:
Just wanted to thank Dr. Thompson for making sure that I get a call for updates about my glasses. They gave me a loaner and have already picked it up a few weeks ago. They also just called me that my replacement lenses have already arrived. I just need to go in for them to put it on this weekend. Updating my review to reflect improved service.
My personal experience with the doctors have been great. The customer service can be spotty. At times those who answer the phones can be short, meaning not so customer friendly which can be deceiving of the great service you get when have the full attention of the staff. I usually (not always the case but majority of the time) have to call to ask if my glasses are ready. This too could improve. I would like to hope that reviews can help a business improve/prosper so this review is for good intentions. I will continue to go to this doctor and location. Would like to see customer service pick up a bit in the way phones are answered and have a more hustle when it comes to acknowledging a customer when they walk in. Some can ignore you initially until they are ready to help you. A quick smile with, "I will be with you in a moment, would be appreciated". Great customer service in the way of being friendly goes such a long way. Not saying this does not happen because it does.
