Walmart Vision & Glasses

Been going here for about 17 years - absolutely amazing doctor (I always speak so fondly of my exams and recommend him to everyone) and the customer service is great, too. However, the policy that demands me to require another eye exam after two months is preposterous. Firstly, I have a very busy appointment schedule and limited vehicle access due to finances and sharing; my eye exam also took place during the holiday stretch from December. I waited a very long time for my appt and I needed it desperately as my contacts were out and my frames are nearly 7 years old. My car was very recently totaled leaving me with no vehicle, as well as all possible friends/family being unavailable, largely due to cancer treatments. I paid $30 out-of-pocket (a large amount to me currently) for my trial contacts following the exam; I was told in my appointment it would be as easy as calling and requesting another pair of contacts if I had any issue with the trial set. I was also terrified of having to pay more money for my contacts (I have severe anxiety and am very poor). The staff informed me to give it about a week and let them know, and also that the $30 was a one-time occurrence. I made it 3 days and the contacts caused me a severe amount of pain and discomfort through the entire period, so I finally removed them and called in. Not only was it a shock to me that I would have to return for another appt to be reassessed for different contacts, but I was only given to return before they told me I would have to go thru another exam to receive further help. Why was I not informed of this policy beforehand? Plain & simply put: my insurance (that I'm incredibly fortunate & grateful to have through Medicaid) only pays for an exam once yearly. Now, I'm left high and dry and with only frames that aren't good enough for me to be able to drive or even properly watch/read anything and I've no idea what to do to make matters worse, I endured a significant amount of trauma and abuse during the times that I regularly wore frames; it was a major step forward in my mental health to switch to contacts and see an "improved" man in the mirror. The blow to my confidence has detrimented my relationship and my daily life in general. Thoroughly unsatisfied and even offended.

I had an amazing experience at the Walmart Vision Center. Molly went above and beyond and made sure everything was perfect for my first time visit. She was a shining star in that office. She's very friendly, very professional, and always willing to help customers with a smile on her face. The only reason I gave 4 stars to the clinic was because there was an issue with my insurance. The physician had told me information that resulted in not being true. Molly did fix the problem, but I do wish that I was informed correctly by the person in charge. Not sure why there are so many low reviews. Everyone in the office is swift, kind, and polite. Very easy to work with and very professional as well. I'll be continuing to use Walmart Vision Center for all my vision needs!

The doctor and staff was able to answer every question. I wasn't sure about the different lenses. My doctor helped me in choosing the right contacts and eyeglasses lenses. Thank you

We've gone here for years for our glasses. Good optician, good selection of frames. Lots of lens options. They take our insurance. Fast turnaround on order.

Staff said glasses were 100% covered. Three months later I got a bill.??? Someone doesn't know what they're doing.

Highly recommend. Always helpful, and I never have to wait for service. I mangled my glasses and in a couple minutes had them back as new. Saved me a couple hundred dollars when other places would have just tried to sell me new ones.

I called say they take insurance I go there with my insurance and she says she can't find. She did nothing to find me with insurance. I went to my eye doctor and was in and out in 15 minutes they seemed to have no problem. Might want train you people better. You just lost a sale.

Recently I had cataract surgery in one eye and was told I could go to my closest eyeglass provider and have my prescription for corrective lenses filled as I have Medicare and they provide one free pair, per year as necessary. To be certain, I phoned this place as it is the closest provider and is still a half hour away. I explained that I just had cataract surgery and was a Medicare patient and was told all I need to do is provide my insurance card. I made an extra trip here, and the person who waited on me asked for my prescription and said it had to have an expiration date on it, which was the first indication I was dealing with a clueless corporate dimbulb. Things proceeded down hill from there, and I tried to maintain my patience, but after waiting approximately 15 to 20 minutes I was told they do not accept Humana even though I have Medicare through them. I suspect the staff is paid minimum wage and it plainly shows, so I would not recommend this operation for either eyeglasses or eye care in any respect.
