I visited this location about a week ago, but I have yet to shake my feeling of discomfort from my less-than-desirable experience. To start, when I entered, the sound of bellowing laughter echoed from the help desk where an elderly worker was being highly rude and impatient with a younger gentleman seated at her desk. She was explaining insurance information, but her tone of voice and obnoxious hand gestures showed she had little to no patience for the man's questions on the insurance policy. I made a mental note of her rude behavior and continued through my eye exam, which was pleasant. However, when it was my time to pick out glasses, I was seated with the irate elderly lady I had heard earlier. I believe her name was Brenda. She was nice to start out with, but when I took longer than 10 minutes to pick out my frames, she was tapping her foot and sighing quite loudly. Then, when it came time to review my insurance and pay for my glasses and visit, she talked to me in a strangely deep voice through pursed lips. No small talk was made, and at the end of the appointment, she just told me I was "free to go" and did not provide any insight on cost breakdown. The doctor and other staff were nice, but I will not be returning.
do not go here. this was my first time going, i walked in handed her my insurance she didn't even pick it up or ask what i have, told me they don't take it. i proceeded to tell her i'll pay out of pocket for it. as im looking around another lady comes and helps me she was amazing her name started with an E, i asked her again if they take my insurance which is BCBS she said "oh of course we do" the lady at the front didn't even take the time to even look at my insurance but told me the prices of everything instead. absolutely ridiculous and she was extremely rude. please don't waste your time there. the front office lady is the manager, not sure why but she's extremely unprofessional
I went to the Westminster location on a Friday after work. I was able to schedule an appointment online with no issues. I did notice they only have a in person doctor on certain days, so be careful when booking unless you don't care. The staff was super friendly and the overall process was seamless. In my opinion it took a while for having an appointment, but that was my only gripe. Will be back.
Scheduled a 5:30 for my wife today. We arrived 10 minutes early. She checked in. After waiting until 6:20 for assistance, she was told all the doctors were offline and she wouldn't get help today. That we'd have to reschedule.
What's the point of rescheduling when you haven't even kept the first appointment we made?
Won't be back, and I encourage anyone needing optometrist services to consider other options. 10+ other options for me locally, it doesn't matter if their frames cost more, they'll actually keep the appointment.
Edit: I want to thank the Brenda and her staff in Westminster for going above and beyond to correct a situation. I have confidence in the new prescription that I received and I am very excited to receive my glasses. Everyone that I interacted with was extremely considerate and helpful. I am revising my rating as I feel that the employees of the America's Best in Westminster, MD and Lutherville, MD really care about making sure their customers receive great service.
Been using America's Best in Westminster for years. Today and last appointment doctor is always way behind. Why is their time more valuable than mine? Orders take much longer to receive than on the past. Time to find a new eye doctor /provider.
This place is absolutely awful and disorganized. It has gone downhill tremendously over the past year and a half. I came in for a scheduled appointment last week and was in the waiting area for almost 80 minutes. They asked me to pop by a few days later to let them know my contact prescription felt good and they could give me contacts and I could pay. I arrived at 430 and was not seen until 5 o'clock. A lady finally called me. I told her what I was here for. she took my chart and put it in their bin. She said she couldn't help me. I had to be seen by somebody else. At the time there were three people working on the floor. Seeing that there were at the time six people waiting to be seen. She let the other lady go home. The remaining lady cannot help me check out and she folded papers. See picture attached when the phones rang. They would stop and answer them. The other lady would address those people very quickly. I probably should've just called. I would have gotten better service.
I was not seen until 30 minutes later. All in all I have spent about four hours of my time in America's best. This is the worst service I've ever received. I guess you get what you pay for
Update was contacted on 8/25 that my classes were ready. Went in yesterday 828 to pick them up. The lady pulled them out and they were sunglasses. She claimed they made a mistake in the warehouse. They had to be re-ordered. I'll have to wait another 2 1/2 weeks. She should have them by 9/15
The exam was very thorough. The Dr took his time to ask questions, look at family history, and discuss test results. Elaine, our store Associate was superb too!!!
