While experiencing an eye trauma contacted this practice, and received the most thorough and effective treatment. Dr.. Botelho not only fit me in, he perhaps saved my eye from a severe cornea abrasion. This Doctor knows his science and swiftly addressed my injury with the application of a bandaid contact and two prescriptions. He has followed up even after the visit
For any needs you may have, Dr. Paul and his staff are more than ready to address your care, with compassion. They are worth the drive no matter if your in town or arriving from 30 miles away like I did. Either way make the switch to this amazing practice!!
Dr. Botelho is very knowledgeable and willing to help. He was able to diagnosed and treat my eye condition in a single visit. He was also very kind and caring.
I had a severe eye infection and was referred to Dr Paul Botelho by my primary Dr Christopher Joncas.
His office got me in the next day.
He was very kind and very knowledgeable, he diagnosed my problem and ordered a slew of antibiotics that fought my infection immediately.
His office manager fit me in for a follow up visit after calling the office on the 4th day.
Kudos to Dr Botelho and his staff on President Ave. Fall River, Mass.
Dr. Botelho removed a small cataract in each of my eyes. His care before and after has been absolutely wonderful. He will take the time to explain anything you need to know about any surgery, and anything you want to understand without feeling rushed. I would recommend this doctor to anyone because you will get the very best care.
Dr. Paul Botelho is a blessing to have as a surgeon. Not only is his knowledge exemplary but he takes his time and makes all his patients feel comfortable and well taken care of. He is very precise in his examinations and answers all your questions. I would highly recommend him!
Let me start by clarifying that if this review was a reflection on the staff, it would be 5 stars. They were friendly, efficient, compassionate and professional. On the other hand, Dr Botelho was rude, incompassionate, completely unprofessional and downright indifferent. My 96 year old mother was a new patient and in need of new glasses because her glasses had been lost in the nursing home. While she was in the exam chair, she began to feel nauseous and the staff gave her the option of either waiting until she felt better or rescheduling to return another day. Since my mom has daily nausea and leaving the nursing home is such a trying experience for her, we opted to wait it out and I gave her Tums. She began feeling better and the tech resumed the exam and refraction. Mom was responding appropriately and all was going well, when her exam was rudely interrupted. The tech was abruptly ordered to stop the refraction and instructed to leave the room. Doctor Botelho came in with another staff member and very matter of factly refused to examine my mother today or any other day. He said that his tech was unable to complete the refraction because my mother was not able to participate. I corrected him and gave him the facts. My mom was participating very appropriately and that the exam was interrupted and cut short. Without consulting with the tech who had been examining my mom, he responded that we needed to "agree to disagree". Apparently Dr Botelho is unaware that two people can only 'agree to disagree' about matters of opinion and not about cold, hard facts. He went on to say that he couldn't complete the exam without her previous records. I explained that no one had informed me that I was responsible to bring her records; however, I offered to get them. Dr Botelho responded that he was not "the right person" to examine my mother and told me to reconsider my decision to leave her prior doctor. He recommended that I call their office and schedule an appointment with them. Meanwhile my mother and I wasted an entire morning. Anyone who has had the experience of taking an elderly person to a doctors appointment can sympathize with the fact that it is extremely difficult and taxing for an elderly person to leave a nursing home for any reason. She was so uncomfortable and sick to her stomach. When she arrived back home she immediately vomited and was very anxious. All that and she doesn't have the glasses that she set out to get.
Why would a human being, who took an oath to help people, be so cold, heartless and unreasonable? I am now a speech language pathologist; however I was a ophthalmic medical assistant for years, therefore, I have had formal training on the appropriate manner in which to treat patients in a doctors office. I have never seen a doctor turn a patient away in such a rude manner. I pray that he "reconsiders his decision" and completes a self-examination of his bed-side manner, indiscretion, and philosophy of how to treat his patients before anyone else has to suffer a similar negative experience in his office.
Dr. Botelho, himself, is great as a doctor!! However, I had an encounter at an appointment with staff that were very rude. They were speaking down to me and extremely unprofessional.
Reasonable prices and pretty quick on ordering eyeglasses. My only complaint with this place is if you want contacts, they charge you $100 to "learn" how to "put them in"! So be sure to say you've had contacts in the past, or they charge you! Plenty of YouTube videos & medical device videos on the internet to teach you how to care for & wear contacts!
