Massachusetts Eye and Ear - Lexington

I was a bit nervous coming here taking a peek of many reviews in the past. However, I made the right choice. Perhaps it's been renovated recently. Bright and clean atmosphere area, with soothing music in the background. Strong WiFi. Plenty of parking spots. The lady from Jamaica checked me in. She's so friendly, kind, quick, and professional. The eye exam was fun. Everyone there was kind and professional and very patient! One thing I would like to suggest while I was waiting there, if I may. It will be great if a doctor doesn't need to come and get his/her patients him/herself. It may save some time in the process if there's someone to get patient ready in the exam room waiting for a doctor to come. Look forward to coming back again next year. kind and knowledgeable doctors!

Look. I get there can be some difficult patients that take a while. But waiting two hours to be seen by the doctor is ridiculous, and I was next in line for at least an hour and a half. How long did my meeting with the doctor take? Two minutes. Absolutely insane waste of my time. If this was a one time occurrence, I wouldn't be as annoyed, but considering I'm waiting at least an hour every appointment should say something about this office

Went here for a while, no more. Fantastic MDs, incompetent front office. The docs were able to pinpoint and treat a rare Lasik complication. 2.5 hour wait at 9AM, cancelling an appointment after check-in, not knowing their own insurance networks, etc.

Extremely poorly run organization and practice. Don't even deserve the one star. Wait times are in hours not minutes. And I've tried multiple doctors to see if office vs practitioner related. It's an office wide problem. Highly recommend you do not use this practice.

The staff and doctors have been so accommodating. I live 400 miles away and when I have had to be seen ASAP, they have had me in within 24 hours. (This has happened to me 5+ times).

Wonderful First Appointment with Dr. Michael Alexander Chang! I had my first appointment with Dr. Michael Alexander Chang at Mass Eye and Ear, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the moment he walked in, Dr. Chang was incredibly kind, respectful, and easy to talk to. He made me feel comfortable right away and took the time to listen carefully to my concerns. He explained everything clearly and patiently, without making me feel rushed or overwhelmed. It's rare to find a doctor who is not only highly knowledgeable but also genuinely caring--and Dr. Chang is exactly that. I left the appointment feeling confident and reassured, which meant a lot to me. I'm so glad I was referred to him and highly recommend Dr. Chang to anyone looking for a compassionate and skilled ENT specialist. Great experience from start to finish!

Had bilateral corneal cross-linking done in 2014 by Dr. Hatch. Procedure went well and my condition has now been stable for the last decade. No complaints about any administrative or medical staff; they are great. Dr. Hatch is very knowledgeable. However, they must be over-booking appointments because the wait times have always been looong. I have had an annual exam here 10 years in a row and it never takes less than 2.5 hours (1.75 hours spent waiting).

1 Star - Avoid This Place Like the Plague! If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience at Massachusetts Eye and Ear's Lexington location in July was nothing short of a nightmare, and based on everything I've heard and seen, I'm far from alone in this misery. From the moment I walked in, it was clear this place values profits over patients, expect to be treated like just another number in their billing system. First off, the wait times are absurd. I sat there for over an hour and a half in a cramped waiting room, staring at the walls while my appointment time came and went. And that's after confirming it twice! When I finally got called back, it was another endless delay in some inner room with no updates, no apologies, just stone-cold silence from the staff. I ended up walking out without even seeing the doctor because life's too short to waste on incompetence like that.
