Goswick Eye | Best Glasses, Contacts & Eye Exams in Northborough

I have been going to Goswick Eye for 5 years and finally enough is enough. Three years in a row they have given me an incorrect prescription costing me more time to revisit and try to correct it. I've never had this issue anywhere else in 25 years of wearing glasses or contacts. This last time, I even paid $150 more for my glasses than normal because they insisted the issue was that I ordered glasses through my insurance and they will take special measurements of my eyes that will ensure everything is perfect. That was a lie. Every time I am in there some customer is frustrated because they lied or screwed something up. On my last visit, that customer was me. I had an appointment for a prescription recheck (because they once again got it wrong at my yearly exam). They said I did not have an appointment. Despite me playing back voicemails to them about the appointment and them frequently calling because I was on the wait list for an earlier appointment should one become available (when I received my glasses and could barely see in them, the appointment they gave me for the recheck was 3 1/2 weeks later). The receptionist was completely dismissive and lied to me about what we were both hearing. It was infuriating for them to tell me one thing while I was playing them a voicemail from them telling me something completely different. They refused to see me and booked me for another appointment next week. Hopefully they will see me then. I've never had this type of recurring poor experience with any type of medical provider. I will not be returning after this prescription is sorted out and I couldn't recommend more strongly that others stay away.

It was my first appt here and did not go well. The assistant gave me a bottle of contact solution and told me to go to the bathroom and take out my contacts to begin the exam. The exam was fine, quick and to the point. I was moved to the room to meet the doctor and get my eyes fully tested for new contacts. That was fine. The doctor then told me I could put my contacts back in, since the exam was completed, and when I but my contact back in my eye started burning. This is the worst pain my eye has ever felt. I immediately ripped out my contact. The doctor then says, "oh that must have been hydrogen peroxide instead of contact solution." The assistant gave me a bottle of contact solution WITH HYDROGEN PEROXIDE IN IT. The doctor was nonchalant and had not urgency. Told me there was no eye rinse station or saline to rinse my eye with. Gave me a bottle of contact solution to drop into my eye to "rinse" it. The doctor was in his chair the entire time while I cried and was in a ton of pain. After the pain slightly subsided, he checked my eyes to determine I had multiple dry spots due to the hydrogen peroxide in my eye. He then told me to go to CVS and pick up eye drops to help with my eye. They made the mistake and I had to go out and get these drops to help my eye. I had to drive home from the appt with one contact in because I was told to avoid wearing my contacts for the remainder of the day. I did not get full vision back in my eye for over a week. The assistant came into the room briefly after this event and I saw her on the way out and not one apology was made to me. Not once has the office called me since that happened and checked in on me either. Again, did not regain full vision for a full week!! Will not be going back, very unprofessional, and did not care that they made a big mistake. I never post bad reviews but when it comes to someone making a mistake in regards to their health, it's important to let others know this could happen again! This was an event of negligence!!!!!

Very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable staff! I had a recent eye exam done in Boston, but the new prescription I ordered online wasn't as sharp as my older pair of driving glasses. I was wondering what might be different and if I needed a new eye exam or if I just needed to order a better quality pair of glasses. I called them and they told me to come in and bring my older pair and they would assist. They quickly evaluated my older glasses and gave me the exact prescription specifications, which was slightly different from my new prescription. They noted that the older prescription corrected a slight astigmatism that the recent exam in Boston failed to notice. They also evaluated my newer pair and educated me on the differences between the two and gave me excellent advice. I hope to return there sometime next year to get a proper eye exam and look forward to ordering a new pair of glasses from their store. Highly professional and they really made me feel welcome!

The customer service I received to make a mistake right is why I'm giving 5 stars to Goswick Eye! They sent my old frames out to the lab to get new lenses and when I received my glasses back in the mail from the lab, I saw that the decorative "cat eye" pieces were missing from my lenses. The lab took the pieces out while cutting the new lenses and forgot to replace them--I was beside myself. I called the office and the lab located the missing pieces right away. I received a free shipping label to send my glasses back and the lab fixed my glasses very quickly. Mistakes happen, but Goswick eye making it right very quickly and at no additional cost is important.

My first experience coming here was truly wonderful. Because I urgently needed an eye exam, I couldn't make an appointment in advance--I just walked in and asked if they had any available slots. I went to the Worcester branch to request an eye exam, but the receptionist said they were fully booked and quickly helped me find an urgent opening at the Northborough branch instead. When I arrived there, I felt very cared for and supported. Both the staff and the doctor welcomed me with friendliness and great assistance. The space was clean, airy, and reasonably priced. This is definitely a place you shouldn't miss if you need an eye exam or glasses.

Waited 40 mins in the waiting room. Finally had the eye exam, only to be told we owed them $ for the visit, but they are an in network provider for our insurance and the visit should have been at $0 cost. After stating this multiple times and wasting another 30 mins with front desk staff, I had to pay the amount and was told to send it to insurance for them to process. Sent it to insurance only for insurance to tell me they are in network and Goswick needs to send the amount directly to them. Goswick eventually did do this. Insurance have now paid them out and I'm still fighting to get to my money back.

Absolute disappointment! My family and I have been customers for years. I purchased a pair of glasses in March 2024 for $500, by August both lenses developed stress cracks. Please note this was not a lens issue cause by misuse or wear and tear. It was a flaw in the stress distribution of the lens material and potential edge defects in the polycarbonate lens. When I got the office to have the glasses repaired I was charged an additional $50 because it had been too long since the purchase. Five months? The woman at the front desk literally said if it had been 1 or 2 months we would have fixed it complimentary, and then was totally dismissive. So after all these years I will be taking my business elsewhere, I have literally spent thousands of dollars on glasses and contacts for my family at Goswick eye. I recommend saving your money and going to somewhere that cares about their customers.

Nice customer service in store and kind opticians, however, horrible glasses. I was sent the wrong prescription multiple times with weeks in between getting new glasses. Prescription also never felt correct. Won't be going here again!
