UMass Memorial Eye Center

I was the first patient of the day. I am a type 1 diabetic and unfortunately my sugar was too high so we had to wait hours for it to go down. I was prepped and on the gurney for cataract surgery. Dr Teng and Dr Waldo and 3 nurses who all took such good care of me. They alleviated my stress by staying with me and making me laugh. Dr Waldo held my hand and told me it was going to be okay I was in great hands. They covered me in warm blankets and went above and beyond. I so appreciated all of them. Bravo to my medical crew, they had my back the whole time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.The amazing nurses were Chelsea, Renee, and Julie.

Whether it is the Hammann or the Northboro campus the staff are all top notch. The quality of care with the surgeons, (Dr Teng), doctors, and interns is spot on. Caring, empathetic, and knowledgeable. Through the years our families have had other doctors and facilities and I can unequivocally say that you won't receive better care anywhere.

I attempted to schedule two separate appointments. The first was canceled without any direct communication--only a MyChart notification, which I thankfully caught in my email. I called to reschedule and was informed that the appointment could be booked a week out from the canceled date. That was fine, as the new appointment was still a month away, giving me plenty of time to adjust my plans. However, when I arrived for the rescheduled appointment, I was told there was no appointment on record. Then, while driving home, I received notice that the second appointment had also been canceled. This has been an extremely frustrating scheduling experience. I called again to speak with someone about the issue, but was unable to reach anyone. UMass used to be a reliable and responsive provider, but unfortunately, that no longer seems to be the case. I've now scheduled my appointment with another practice. Access to care should not be hindered by administrative issues--especially when the concern is vision-related.

Have been going here for a year or so to keep track of any vision changes. The machines are all top of the line and the staff has been great each time. Dr Bonaldi is superb and so friendly. Feel very fortunate to receive this level of care!

Very thorough. OD Jaun Ding was amazing! I appreciated the fact they did an in depth exam to check if a previous had returned. Unfortunately it did; however, they helped me expedite the process to a specialist and I'm getting the treatment I need. I'm forever grateful. Despite there being many patients in the waiting area, it wasn't a long wait. OD explained everything so I could understand and follow along. I had forgotten sunglasses and the very kind receptionist gave me a pair of plastic sunglasses that just held onto my face (felt like Commander Geordi la Forge ). I would recommend OD Juan Ding. Only negative was the length it took me to book the visual field test appointment. It was a few months after my initial appointment. It was summer and the OD was on vacation for a portion of the time in between. They're entitled to vacations too, so I wasn't upset. Hope this helps.

most pathetic service I receive from this center. I visited for my son and doctor prescribe eye drop, when I call pharmacy they said they did not receive new prescription. Then I call every day, since 2 weeks, to this center for to sent the prescription to pharmacy, but every time they says they don't have in system and nurse will call back to me which I never get call back from nurse, not a single time.
