I had the same experience as Ray who posted a couple years ago. Wish I had read his review would have saved me a lot of stress and aggravation. I went in for a standard eye exam. Explained clearly when making the appointment and checking in that I had eye Dr. insurance, gave them the info and was there for a standard covered two year exe exam. During the exam the Dr. casually mentioned I had cataracts that were normal for my age and not a problem but did I want him to note it on my chart. Next thing I know I am billed for a very large amount of money. The Dr. seemed great and I would completely understand a minor clerical error causing the issue. Problem happened when I tried to get it corrected. Multiple calls with customer service staff who did not seem trained or knowledgeable. Finally was contacted by the supervisor who was condescending and had to make it my fault. Finally after a stern lecture she changed the code on the billing so it was covered by insurance. If you have eye Dr. insurance like I do make sure they are using the proper code. If it is billed to your health insurance as a health issue as opposed to a standard exam billed to your eye insurance it will cost you a LOT more money.

Love this place. Great reception staff, doctors, assistants, the works. Top of the line equipment to get the best exam possible. I have been going here for years for my eye appointments and glasses, had to use them for an emergency appointment the other day, they fit me in and took the greatest care possible to make sure that I didn't have any long term effects. I was very happy with the appointment and how it was handled.

Great surgeons. But an abusive scheduling system. We wait well over an hour every single time we go there, which is tough for small kids. That kind of consistency points to a conscience decision by management to maximize profits over patient experience.

Really not a great experience here. Constantly rescheduled and alerted to those rescheduled appointments via mail, and they have a very very archaic return policy. You're only allowed to cancel eyeglass orders within the day that you place them even though it takes more than 2 weeks for them to fill a prescription. I made appointments for my children 6 months out, and was rescheduled twice through the mail. Causing their summertime, preschool eye appointments to be in September. Parents have enough stress they don't need more stress like this.

Truly horrible, zero communication or customer care. I would never recommend anyone come here. Waited over 2 hours for a routine eye exam and literally was told nothing about why it was taking so long until I asked. It was a completely avoidable situation and had they clearly communicated that we wouldn't have had such an issue.

Very professional pleasant office staff talented and experienced medical team of doctors technicians patient gentle compassionate to their patients needs this coming from someone who had not been to a eye clinic in perhaps years if not decades to be honestly precise . I was walked through it all each and every step of the way .Top notch state of the art testing treatments laser surgeries .Made a crucial difference in the over all quality of my eye sight in terms of restorative eye conditions in fact currently stabilized my eye conditions amazing thus far I'm so incredibly lucky to have been highly regarded recommended and or referred by a caring friend of mine to this particular eye center .I too highly recommend the Microsurgical Eye Consultants as the very best Eye Center in the North Shore or around for that matter . If you have hours to waste then this is your place. I came for a routine eye exam plus a contact lens exam because I always need a contact lens prescription. After my appointment, I saw my glasses prescription on Patient Gateway but not the contact lenses. When I emailed the staff about this, they said that the doctor I saw "doesn't do contact lens exams". Well, why did they schedule me with him then? So they said I would have to come back and pay the fee for the exam. I have been coming here my whole life and also travel from Quincy to this location but I am all done with them.

Under the "New normal" Microsurgical has adapted very well. The whole team was organized and comforting. They made my visit feel safe, healthy, and secure. I would personally like to thank Bonnie for her attentiveness and attention to detail regarding my exam. After my preliminary interview and exam, I met with Dr Rodman he was very knowledgeable and was able to explain the process in terms I could understand. Microsurgical team was spot on from beginning to end. I was extremely satisfied!
