Kadrmas Eye Care New England - Plymouth

I went to this eye center simple because it was in town and they took my ins. Somehow, I still had to pay a fee. The office was completely empty, yet my appt started late. The receptionist was on her cell / phone the entire time I was in the office waiting, clearly attending to personal matters. I didn't request a specific Dr, but I didn't realize this huge office was only open ONE day a week, and unable to assist otherwise, even though they have 3 locations. I asked for samples at the appt as I had no contacts and wanted to try new lenses before making the expensive purchase, and they didn't have any samples to give... I was shocked. The doctor stated she had "never heard of my brand of contacts" and then finally I was given 1 sample for each eye of the Oasys biweekly... even though I have worn daily contacts for many years... She also prescribed me that brand which runs the most expensive. The whole experience, including a follow up below, was like I was causing a problem, even though this is a business and I am a paying customer. I not only would never refer here, but I will specifically tell people not to go here. My exam was in November. The doctor specifically said if I need another script to call... This provider made the decision to give me a script of their choosing that stated 2 week contacts... even though I've never worn this brand or bi-weekly. Follow up: I kindly made a call last week for a daily script as the bi-weekly's have not worked out. When you call this business, no one likes to share their name (accountability I assume.) Last Friday I spoke to Melissa, who acted like it was an ordeal to ask Dr. Sousa for a daily script, even though the script is literally electronic. My request was quite simple, and the doctor could have given me the script the day of my appt, but instead told me to call if needed (which I know will never do again.) Melissa rudely "reminded" me "your appt was in Nov" as if that had anything to do with it. Just like any other doctor, I should be able to contact at anytime after paying for your services. Melissa said I had to wait 6 days until Dr. Sousa was in the Wareham location next Thursday, that she couldn't help from Plymouth. 11:30 on the following Thursday (today), I call and speak to another staff member with a terrible attitude, Rosie. Again, these people act like they are volunteering. Told me doctor is out all week and office is closed, and that they can not help. I ask for manager, get put on hold so long I hang up, they're screening my call at this point. I then get a third staff member, who refuses to tell me her name even though she's answering a business line, Connie. I'm on hold again, and guess what... shocker! Someone else CAN change the frequency / brand on my contact script! But, it's 2026 and they can't email me the online generated copy. I have to wait until Monday morning to go pick it up. If Melissa got off her cell phone and helped, I am certain the practice could have gotten me a script a week ago. If they were closed, she should have called me back upon opening today. I knew I wouldn't hear from her. I wasn't asking to change anything on the prescription but the *TYPE AND FREQUENCY* of the contacts that this doctor I've seen ONCE selected for me based on the SINGLE sample she had in the office. Melissa, Rosie, Connie - Do better. I work in healthcare, and there are things that can be done with MINIMAL effort to help (paying) patients. I was incredibly kind and detailed in my first call, and did not deserve attitude from any of these staff members over a simple script change. I will get what I need before my prediction expires and never return here. The call ended with Rosie or Melissa not sure who at that point telling me I was lucky they did me a favor... as if they weren't at work getting paid!

This place is absolutely a rip off! I just filled my prescription from them, that I had to pay extra for after eye exam (what dr charges for that???). Anyway, my new glasses weren't right (my old glasses are still perfectly clear - i only filled the new one because i was told it was a very minimal change and I wanted a back up pair). Anyway, I brought them back where I got them where they determined to glasses were made to the specifications of the prescription i was given and that I should go back to the dr, ask for a quick recheck and then they would redo glasses at no charge (fantastic customer service!) Called Kadrmas today. I was rudely told since its been more than 90 days since I filled their prescription that there would be a $45 charge for a re-check. (Even thought on the prescription they gave me it stated it was good through the end of August). When I asked to speak with someone else there, I was hung up on (super un-professional). I have to say, I NEVER post bad reviews for any establishments, but this situation really calls for it!! My advice, avoid this place at all costs!!!

I have been a patient at Kadrmas Eyecare for years and have complete confidence in Dr. Kadrmas and his medical team. He is knowledgeable, considerate and fully explains your eye care needs. The new Plymouth office is able to provide many in-house surgeries as well, which is so convenient. Thanks to Dr. Kadrmas and the surgical staff for all you do!

I took a chance an went back after leaving this practice 2 years ago. I went an made an appointment the first week in February for contacts. Upon my arrival I was told that I needed a referral which I had gotten one an had to step away from the desk call my primary to get the referral code. I took a seat any waited 45 to 50 min which at that time I went to the desk ask how much longer. She said oh your next. After being call in for the pre exam I said wow your running behind which I got the reply they thought I left. Once in seeing Dr Gray I felt like I was rushed thru the exam. The appointment was made to pick up my trial contacts which on the first day or two they were blurry so I call set up appointment to see Dr Gray again to which she realized they were the wrong prescription an ordered me new ones. It's now 2 months and I still do not have them. This is the WORST place One doesn't know what the other is doing.

I had an eye exam in January 2022, with Dr Gray, at this practice. The exam was very thorough and I was pleased with the exam. I recently broke my glasses and went back to the practice to get a copy of the prescription. I was told it would cost me $40 for the prescription. This seems like a rip-off to me.

This office is horrible! After waiting a month for test results I was told I needed eye injections by receptionist after never talking to the doctor. I went to have my test results faxed to Mass Eye and Ear and was told it would take 3 to 4 weeks by a receptionist who just shrugged her shoulder when I told her it was unacceptable. She handed me a letter that was sent to my optometrist with my name spelled wrong. PATHETIC MEDICAL PRACTICE!!

Everyone here is very nice & kind, from the receptionist to the techs, nurses, Drs & billing. The nurse/tech/Dr explained all the machines & procedures, answered all my questions & were just great. I really recommend Kadrmas for your eye care.

Keep pushing to get expensive lenses put in with cataract surgery instead of standard Medicare type. Talked to me about this 3 times at each exam. Stressed me & didn't continue exam.
