Happy with my first visit. Everyone was professional, and my doctor did a good job explaining things. The person who assisted me with picking out my new frames was also helpful in explaining certain things I had not initially considered.
I am extremely disappointed and frankly distressed by the way I was treated by the staff at this facility. I had previously seen Dr Vandenbelt and had a wonderful encounter with him and the staff at that time. I made my next appointment with Dr. Weaver and my initial appointment with her again was a very good experience. However, when I got my new glasses this time I knew immediately that there was something not correct. After spending an hour trying to determine what was wrong with the glasses it was determined the prescription Dr Weaver had given me might be wrong. I located my previous prescription that Dr Vanenbelt had given me and comparing the 2 I realized there was a possible error on my prescription. I called to find out what I had to do to get the prescription corrected and the receptionist immediately copped an attitude with me. She was rude and demeaning to me on the phone and would not allow me to leave a message to have the Dr call me. She told me I had to make an appointment with Dr Weaver to have my eyes checked again. I made the appointment. I had the appointment today and again encountered extremely rude behavior from the receptionist and Dr Weaver. The receptionist who checked me in was very nice but the older woman who was sitting next to her had again copped an attitude with me. The technician who initially took me back was also very nice. Dr Weaver came in and told me I was rude to her employees and very definitely had a nasty attitude toward me. She did recheck my eyes and as I thought the initial prescription was incorrect. She blamed me for not choosing the right prescription when she checked my eyes. I understand everyone is human and mistakes happen but the attitude of this doctor and her staff was inexcusable. My encounter could have been completely different had they simply said we are sorry you are having an issue lets make an appointment to see what the doctor thinks.
I feel bad giving only one star because it is not directed toward Dr. Vandenbelt, but the rude receptionist at the front window. I see all the other reviews are over 7 or 8 months old and I wonder if any of them have encountered her or if she is newer. First, upon walking in, there was no friendly greeting or smile, which okay, I can live with that, but it kind of sets the tone. Things just went from bad to worse when she proceeded to argue with me about my insurance when I told her I didn't have a card, but she wanted a copy of my husband's card, when my insurance was primary. I was only there for an annual vision exam, covered 100% under my primary insurance. She was rolling her eyes, making rude facial expressions and very argumentative. I finally told her I would not be keeping my appointment and would be taking my business elsewhere. This made me angry I felt pushed to that point, because I do like Dr. Vandenbelt and feel he is an excellent doctor, if you can get past the rude lady who you first encounter in his office.
Very professional and thorough. Shows passion towards his patients. Very nice office and great staff. I won't go to anyone else!
Loved the fact that you don't have to wait forever in the reception area. Staff is very professional and friendly.
Great doctor, knows his stuff, very knowledgeable and cares about his patients. Won't go any where else!
He was very good in discussing all the concerns I had regarding a vision issue at the beginning of the year.
I'm a complicated case and they are doing a great job so far
