Actual eye doctor was great. Everyone else I experienced both with just checking in for the very first time with everyone I talked to on the phone when I had to change an order and then call for status updates - RUDE with insane condescending attitudes for no reason at all. I don't understand how this is just allowed as the culture in this store. It was my first experience with an eye glasses store in my life as we found out my daughter needed glasses. Just went to the closest SVS vision to my home. Theirs no shot I would ever go back to this location. And just to be clear there were never any issues. It was attitude just on contact. And not subtle at all. It was meant to show immediate dissatisfaction (I assume with their own lives projected onto others but that's a different story). Like to provide an update. These messages saying we're sorry you had a bad experience please reach out to this email so they can get back with you? BS. I reached back out same day and that was 2 weeks ago almost and they never responded to my email. On par I'd say.

Scheduled an appointment weeks in advance. Got a call from the store a week prior to my appointment. Date was set, work was scheduled off for that time. I live 20 minutes from the store and I arrived on time the day of my appointment. When I arrived, I was promptly informed I wasn't on their books, and wasn't even in their system. I was shocked. The person behind the counter had NOTHING to offer, not even assisting me with their mistake. Will never return, and would NOT recommend this location. The worst customer service!!!!

We first came here for our daughter's eye exam and glasses and had such a great experience that my husband and I came back for ours. The staff and doctor are so friendly, helpful, and professional--they truly make you feel welcome. This will be our family's go-to spot for annual exams and glasses. Highly recommend!

Dr Otto made me feel extremely comfortable and she was hilarious. The front desk staff was very helpful got me in quickly and they used technology to their advantage so I didn't have to cramp my hands writing a bunch of shit. Lynda Came up with some great suggestions and a pair that I actually went for, and really helped me out as opposed to another place here in town that I will not name I do not know why people give these guys one star reviews, it sounds more like their poor planning cause problems rather than the stores. Check these folks out.

I love this place for eye glasses , been going for years. Incredibly friendly, and helpful.

When we went in for our appointment they were running more than 30 minutes behind. My son wanted contacts for the first time and throughout all of my many questions no one gave me straight answers on how to schedule him an appt for his contacts, when or how long they would take to get in or the pricing. We had our appt on Aug 1st. His glasses came in Friday the 8th, we came in Monday the 11th. I expected the contacts to be in as well, since I was woefully uninformed about their contact procedures, only to be informed his contacts where not in yet and we would set an appointment when they came in. My son tried on the glasses and they were slightly crooked on his face. I pointed this out and the front desk woman argued that they were straight. When I pointed out that glasses were not perpendicular to his cheeks or his eye brows , the woman told me "most people have one eye brow lower than the other" rather than just adjusting per requested.... so I insisted that they be adjusted. The woman quite literally did the OPPOSITE of the adjustment requested so the glasses were even more angled in the same direction we had requested be fixed. To which she responded was MY fault for not understanding it was just my son's face. In frustration I asked for them to be put back to "normal" and I adjuated them at home rather than argue with someone who had zero interest in her job. Today, (the 13th) I received a call that magically, his contacts have now come in and we need to schedule an appointment. Not that we weren't there yesterday requesting to set an appt ... and now they can not fit him in.. until the week he goes back to school and starts soccer practice every day after school. They have no doctor present after 5 or on Fridays, so we can't schedule those days. Even though i scheduled this eye exam on the first to make sure he was IN trials before he started soccer practice. Just complete uselessness all the way around from this location.

I am appalled by the Caledonia location, especially office staff Kathy, at SVS. I have been going to SVS for a few years and brought my boyfriend to this location too this past year as he needed an eye exam and dilation for his upcoming event. Yet I wish I didn't. The one office staff member, Kathy, has always sounded so impatient and rude when I'm in person as if it was inconvenient to ask things (looks like there are a few previous reviews with people frustrated on that too so I'm assuming it's her) but I always brushed it off. Today I called and both her and the doctor (who only she could talk to) were awful. We have been waiting a week to get paper/email documentation of eyes being dilated which the office staff said they would send and nothing. Came to the day of the event that needed proof and we called and Kathy specifically stated she talked to the doctor who said there was no eye dilation. We stated how we literally have a photo proof from that day that his eyes were dilated and asked to talk to the doctor and then she said rudely "doctors don't talk to patients". And then proceeded to say she could send us the full documentation of the day and when she did... guess what it had?! Proof of eye dilation. This was just her not wanting to do her job and if the doctor really did refuse to talk to us to have us explain that's very disappointing. I or my boyfriend will not be back to SVS ever, especially that location. I think these comments need to be reviewed as well as it sounds like the most dissatisfaction of all of this is the front office.

I should have reviewed this SVS store awhile back since I became their customer about 2 1/2 yrs ago but here is my review now. I started out at the Flint store and that was exceptional so when we moved to the Grand Rapids area it was a no brainer I was going to go to SVS here especially when I sent my husband to get his eyes checked and got new glasses and how impressed he was not only by the Dr also with the entire staff! It was no surprise to me since I had already experienced the excellent customer service in Flint! So when it was my turn and my daughter's turn to get our eyes checked and pick new glasses I was so happy with the outstanding, extraordinary, and specialized attention we received! We were drawn to Kathy-she is very professional! She was very welcoming, hospitable, and gracious! She was patient boy was she patient! It's not easy to pick out glasses! Her opinion always mattered to me! Kathy excels in Customer Service! It's a lost art today! Thank You Kathy!
