August Optical

I am absolutely highly disappointed and disgusted by Mary's costumer service.. it all started when I took my daughters to their eye exam last year November at that time all they had was Medicaid for vision insurance so I too them there. Had never been to that place. I did not like the service from the start but I brushed it off. Mary was the optician and my daughters did not like her attitude still I brushed it off. Both of my daughters could not see out of their glasses since they got them and so I took my oldest glasses up there so they could fix them a month later I go up there because they never got back with me . Come to find out they lost her glasses. So they said to go ahead and come back so they can get her another pair for her. With a busy life schedule I was unable to come up there. Finally 2 months later here we are trying to get the rx right and Mary calls me saying that I would get billed if she does not have insurance. Hello! This is a redo on the rx that you guys did wrong so "why is she getting billed? She could never wear the glasses in the first place! So than she starts explaining how it's now a new owner and whatever whatever; excuse me but this has nothing to do with yall losing my daughters glasses and giving her an ex that she cannot use and see out of . So than Mary says call on Monday to talk to Sherry and I said "no, she can call me as a manager it's your responsibility to call the patient when there is an issue or concern on the business you work for" to make things right. Regardless of what insurance it was Medicaid or not you guys still got paid! so I will be waiting for a call.

My experience with The Lab Tech was extremely professional and polite! It was last minute too close on a Friday and they helped solve my issue! Very helpful and polite! Thanks for the great service and I'd recommend August Optical to all my friends and family!

Well as an ATTEMPTED new patient i was refused service because Mary the office manager says i don't need this type of eye Dr. But...I need glasses! Do they not check eyes and determine prescriptions ? Im so confused. Oh wait, its literally because im black. Mary actually made the comment "Not for one of you people" when referring to making the appoitment. Exactly WHAT THE HECK IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN? Good thing the call was on speaker and i have LITERALLY 8 WHITE witnesses who were completely appalled for me! So because I'm black, I don't deserve to be able to get glasses? What kind of world are we living in now? I just needed to have better vision via some glasses. What is my dark skin gonna rub off on the machines or something? is my eyesight too Black to be able to be fixed? Mind you I am not one of these guys that's all black lives matters blah blah blah. I don't even hang with just black folks like that. Then again I'm not looking at the skin color of the folks I hang with it just so happens that majority of my friends are completely ethnically ambiguous. So my inner circle looks like it's salt and pepper. As a black man I've never in my entire life had anybody say anything racially negatively to me, so I am really taken aback here. sincerely considered calling the news. Just disgusted and still have no appointment to get my vision corrected. Denied service for skin color in 2026 is pure insanity!!!!!

Above and beyond eye doctor. I am new to the area and they treated me with respect and kindness and went above and beyond to make sure I was set up with everything I need! Highly recommend for a good loyal eye doctor

I have been going to August optical for years. Going there is like seeing old friends. Wonderful staff that goes out of their way to help their customers.

The parking is kind of awkward there is a maybe one or two spaces up front and the rest of parking is in the back of the building. Also it's not really easy to get to if you're not on the same side of the highway. Does the doctors that have worked there have been more than plates and the staff is an absolute dream. Im glad they help me out everytime!

I just wanted to give a HUGE thumbs up to the team at August optical! Always a delight to visit & the girls are always so helpful & sweet. Last year I set up a appointment to get a new script for lenses as I was VERY overdue. Picked out a simple but classy black frame & my new glasses were in about a week later! It was so fast & the staff was super helpful! Today I needed to visit as I was having a VERY irritated left eye. Started swelling up & felt strange overnight. I called this morning around 8/9 to see if they had any times available & they got me in the same day just a little after noon! My eye was rapidly progressing worse after I made the appointment & im SO happy the team & Dr August are so caring & helpful. I was surprised they got me in the same day I thought for sure they would have a full schedule for the day & I would've had to wait til Monday to come in. They got me a script for some drops to help clear up the infection I got. Here's to hoping for some healing & relief & I just cannot thank your office enough for all you do for me as a patient. It's very rare to feel welcomed & genuinely cared for at a lot of doctor offices these days but everytime I visit August im never disappointed. Thank you so so so much it means so much to me! I was scared & thought I was going to have to visit the ER (strong dislike for the ER) for something worse! Again thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart. Very much appreciated & I will keep the office updated over the next few days regarding follow up for the prescription eye drops. Thank you!
