Henry Ford OptimEyes - Royal Oak

Really enjoy going here! Having bad vision all my life and being incredibly particular about my optometrist, I can honestly say they are amazing. The staff is friendly and polite, the frame selection is great (they carry my favorite brand), the pricing is fair, and the equipment/office spaces are very clean. I'd strongly recommend them.

Great experience today at Henry Ford OptimEyes in Royal Oak. Staff was kind, efficient and timely. Dr. Crane helped me understand testing I had performed and I did not feel rushed. I was in the market for a new pair of glasses and Ruksana walked through the store helping me select several options and provided honest feedback on the fit and look, helping me to select a style that matched me perfectly. Highly recommend!

After being dissatisfied with my previous glasses from a big competitive eyewear chain, I thought I might get a more accurate eye exam at OptimEyes because it is affiliated with a hospital system. This proved to be correct. Very thorough eye exam by Dr. Crane. My progressive lenses are finally the correct prescription and I can see perfectly, yay. The optician was extremely helpful and kind. They could add some more adventurous frames to their designer selection, IMO, but that said, I did find a stylish pair that suited me. I love my new glasses; thank you.

This is my second visit to the RO HF OptimEyes and both visits have been very comfortable and timely. Dr. Crane was excellent-both professional and personable. The lobby staff extremely knowledgeable about choosing the appropriate frames for me. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

A great experience from the beginning! Dr. Newberry was wonderful! I used to go to the one in Troy, but I enjoyed this one so much better. They were also faster. The only thing that was inconvenient was that all the frames are locked, so I couldn't walk around and try on frames easily. I also didn't like that I had to sign a waiver to have my frames (purchased last year) sent out to change my prescription. Thankfully, they were returned quickly and unbroken.

The whole experience was great. The staff was friendly and professional. The young lady who did my work up was so informative, kind and professional. The doctor was very detailed and made sure I understood everything she was doing and helped me understand the status of my eyes as well as what to expect for my future sight.

Unfortunately this review went from a five star to a one star Went in to order a new pair of frames. The workers in sales people were kind and helpful, I knew the exact frames and lenses I wanted from being in there prior to try on different options. The manager rang me up and ran through my insurance and gave me a price but said they can't finalize the order until one of their other managers was in later in the week and they would call me the place that order. After not receiving the phone call on the stated date, I called back two days later asking why they had not called. The representative said they couldn't process the order because the person that rang me up was on lunch and wanted the sale for themselves and they would call me later that afternoon. I still never received a call. So I called them back a few days later and the person I spoke with said they had to talk to their manager about getting this finalized and they would call me back. When they called back they informed me that the price would now be almost three times what the original quoted price was after my insurance. The whole process left me very uneasy, maybe it comes from the workers not being particularly qualified. Even if the higher price is the actual price the process and communication didn't make me want to work with them so I took my business elsewhere. Just be diligent and be careful with what they quote you and what they actually charge you

First time ever going to HFO. Can't say if I'd return. I saw Dr Crane. Her bedside manner could use some tweaking. She gives off this vibe like she would rather be anywhere else. She tries to act friendly but doesn't quite pull it off. It's subtle so most people probably wouldn't notice. The majority of the staff is nice and helpful. The office and location are nice. It was okay for the most part, but I can't give five stars because the Dr is not very personable.
