I've been coming here for almost 30 years, ever since I was a child. Now that I have children of my own, my step son, waited almost 2 months to get an eye appt here, referred to a specialist. Specialist recommended glasses. We've attempted to go back to South Haven eye care to get our son glasses and they said we needed an appointment and don't even know when that could be done. I'm not sure if this place is going out of business or what, but it's been a miserable experience to say the least. Our child is struggling in school because he's having a hard time reading without glasses, and now we are stuck in limbo, begging SH eye care to get our son glasses. Do not recommend this place anymore.

I went to South Haven Eye Care with my daughter. When I walked in before my daughter arrived, I was told to "go sit down". The manner in which I was greeeted was extremely rude. We arrived 15 minutes early and had sent our paperwork via email hours before our appointment. However, the receptionist made us fill out an old new patient form which had been written on with red pen several times that you could not read any of the information that was on the form. We waited 45 minutes before we were able to see the doctor. This was during my lunch hour which I exceeded which is completely unacceptable! Without going into too much more detail, the experience with the front desk was awful and has always been. I'm baffled that this receptionist has worked at this office for so long and not been fired for her horrible attitude. Although the rest of the staff is nice, the experience with the receptionist is enough to make me never want to go back. The only reason I gave two stars is because of the rest of the staff.

During these extremely difficult times, the South Haven Eyecare Center has helped me immensely get my new prescription glasses. Now I can see out of both eyes. Both Dr. Basik and Dr. Mannik have protected my vision for years. Of course I do miss Skip in the optical department, but as a retiree I understand everyone retires and a replacement for him is hard to find. Keep up the great work.

Staff was courteous and very responsive. Dr. Mannik helped me identify the eyecare I needed for my work place. My eyes were a little tricky and the doctor was able to provide exceptional vision.

I went into the office today to look for new frames. The woman behind the desk (gray hair) was very rude when telling me how I could look at frames but not try on unless I had someone help me and was at a table. She said I could look but keep my hands in my pockets! There is a mature, nice way to welcome a person into a business without being insulting. She was busy with another task in front of her, of which she only looked up twice while speaking to me. Won't go back. Seems there is a history of this "front desk".

There are no words to describe this place... Rude, narcissistic, egotistical, offensive, derogatory, insulting.....this is a good place to start. There are so many stories I could tell you about this place (not just my own)....However, I will tell you the final straw that got me to write this review. I had an appointment that the doctor herself told me, would only take 10 minutes. I waited in the office over 20 minutes with nobody else there and I received an emergency call from the babysitter that I had to bolt out of the office for. Fast forward 4 days later I get a NASTY call from the female doc (male doc is not as rude but he is very egotistical) saying "she doesn't want to see me again." She states that I shouldn't have run out of her office the other day. I start to explain to her because clearly the jerk at the front desk failed to tell her why I left and she cuts me off saying "YOUR FAMILY EMERGENCY IS NOT MY PROBLEM!". Needless to say, I hung up on her after saying she was a very sad human being. The only person at this place that resembles a human is the front desk lady with long dark hair. She seems to be the punching bag for the other horrific front desk lady. God help you if you have to deal with her..... Please.....PLEASE go somewhere else. ANY WHERE ELSE BUT HERE.

Had to hear that a young boy battling brain cancer was kicked out from his appointment all because he wanted to tell the doctor a short story. He is the greatest kid in the world. Sad that this place doesn't have patience for children. Please spare your child or self and don't visit this place...
