I saw Dr. McKuras this morning and was diagnosed with a torn retina. The diagnosis sucks, but everyone was so kind and told me what to expect in the upcoming day(s). One very nice member of the team who was transcribing in the room during my exam, assured me that eye surgery isn't as scary as it sounds and really put my mind at ease. Now I'm just waiting for the call. Wait time was low, everyone was super friendly and efficient. I guess I'll update, if needed, post surgery.
The staff were very friendly. The down side was the wait time. We checked in at 7:30 for an 8 am appointment, was seen by a tech within 15 min or so then placed back out in the waiting room. About an hr later came and as were escorted to another room some of the techs were saying the doctor pulled into the parking lot us into another room as said it will be awhile before we were to be seen. It appears this center overbooks an cares more about $$$ than peoples time, our time is just as much valuable as theirs. Unfortunately we have to cancel other appointments for a 15 min post op check up.
Several decades ago, Dr. Brown performed Lasik surgery on both my eyes to fix my far sight vision. I'd been seeing local optometrists through the years, but when I thought my right eyes Emphernal Membrane was getting close to needing surgery, I wanted Great Lakes to make it. Turned out, that cataract surgery is what I needed, and the membrane "wrinkle" hadn't reached the surgery stage.
That was a big relief.
I'll be buying new glasses from them soon too.
Every staff member was efficient and a delight to work with. I feel that every Opthomologist were blessings to me.
Thank you, Great Lakes Eyecare!
The staff are really friendly and doctors take the time to explain everything amd are great people!
The only downside is the wait time but they are very amazing and worth the wait!
Dr. Brown did such a wonderful job on my dad's cataract surgery. my dad has been so happy the the results and we both have been happy with every experience we have when going there.
we somehow got the same technician 3 times in a row, I made sure to get her name, her name was Courtney. she was really kind. she didn't talk to us like we were stupid when we had a lot of questions, she was really thorough with my dad. she was very smiley and made my dad laugh quite a bit. we saw her last week in passing but she stopped to say hi and asked how we were which meant a lot that she remembered us.
if my dad has to come back we want Courtney and we want Dr. Brown.
I was sitting in the wait for my husband right in front of reception desk. The ladies were speaking ill of a customer so I wonder what they say about us when we walk away. Not very professional at all.
I am delighted to share my exceptional experience as a patient at Great Lakes Eye, where I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Pletcher as my optometrist and surgeon. From the outset, I was impressed by the warm welcome and clear communication provided by Dr.Pletcher and his staff, who thoroughly explained my condition, treatment options, and expected outcomes. The surgery center upheld the same standards of excellence, providing efficient check-in, attentive nursing care, and outstanding support from Dr.Pletcher's assistant, Toby, during the procedure, ensuring a seamless and positive experience. As a past healthcare employee myself , I know good healthcare when I see it. I highly recommend and wish continued success to this facility , may God continue to bless Dr. Pletcher, Toby and all employees at Great Lakes.
