I absolutely had a wonderful experience here! I don't understand why people are commenting what that are. The front desk people were extremely nice and checked me in very quickly! Dr. Angela Taylor was extremely kind which made me so comfortable! Mariah also helped me at the end getting glasses and she was also absolutely wonderful! I'm so glad my insurance recommended me to here! I wish I could give more stars they deserve it!

Buyer beware here! The told me it was a medical requirement to get a retina scan that insurance doesn't cover. Granted it was only $40 but still lying to make a coupled bucks isn't cool. Then when they found out I wasn't buying my glasses there they didn't complete the eye examine. I called politely and asked for my "PD" numbers and was told since I wasn't buying glasses from them they didn't keep the examine info that has the PD measurements. So they are billing my insurance company scammed me for my copay and an extra $40! Not cool at all! --UPDATE 3-3-2026--My insurance company was very clear that they CAN NOT deny any portion of my exam just because I'm not purchasing glasses from them. This is a violation of the contract they have with the insurance companies. --UPDATE 3-5-2026--A person from corporate reached out and explained what happened was wrong. They offered a full refund which I declined because I applaud their follow up and promise to re educate the staff at this office. I felt the conversation was genuine so I have increased their rating based on them owning the situation and offering a remedy.

Premium optometrist. Dr R. Swanson is very nice. She was the optometrist I was scheduled with when I asked for an appointment one and a half years ago and shes so nice that I scheduled another appointment with her recently. Was able to make an appointment and be seen the following day. No errors in prescriptions so far. They accepted EyeMed insurance through my employer.

Dr. Taylor and Mariah were amazing. I have been wearing glasses and contacts for 45 years. I stopped wearing contacts about 3 years ago after complaining about watery eyes and them itching. I switched to rxoptical and for the first time, Dr. Taylor took the time to fit me with multiple contacts and explain that they have to sit right on my eyes and adjust. I am wearing a pair of contacts and dont feel them at all. I am so glad I switched. Thank you!

Firstly, I want to start by saying how wonderful the staff is! From the front desk to the optometrist and the opticians, everyone was so accommodating to both myself and my mom and stepdad. I ordered a new pair of glasses along with new lenses, and they turned out great. At my previous eye place, the lenses were not the best--but with my RX Optical lenses and glasses, the difference is incredible. There's no star bursting with traffic lights, ceiling lights, or really any lights now. Before, even with anti-reflective coating, I always saw star bursting, so this has been a huge improvement. If I could give more stars, I absolutely would! Thank you for the great customer service and the amazing lenses that finally allow me to see clearly during both day and night. I'll definitely be recommending this place to my family and anyone looking for new glasses, lenses, or an eye exam!

They scammed me. I originally made an appointment at the Outer Drive location, went to my appointment, and was sitting in the exam chair when the doctor told me they couldn't help me there. She said I would have to drive all the way down to this location on Allen Road. It's about 30 minutes from my home, so not ideal. The irony is that I only gave them a shot because the Outer Drive location was closer to home than my old doctor. I feel like I got tricked into driving all the way to Woodhaven. The new appointment went fine, and I ordered a set of contact lenses. When the lenses were ready, I had to drive back down to this location to pick them up. The just handed them to me in the lobby, which was strange. I wear Rigid Gas Permeable lenses, which are a hard plastic and have to be fitted to the wearer. Most places will have you try on new lenses and check the fit before you leave. I asked if a doctor could take a look and they said no. So I drove the 30 minutes back home and put them in. One of them pinched my cornea in a way that was very painful. I called the office and they said to make a new appointment. So I did. On my third trip down to Woodhaven, I made a wrong turn and arrived just a couple of minutes late. Honestly, less than 5 minutes. But when I went inside, they said they wouldn't see me, I would have to make another appointment. I had already driven to Allen Park once and Woodhaven three times. I was not going to drive back down there again. I told them this was crazy and I just wanted my money back. They had no shortage of excuses. "My manager is on vacation" and dumb stuff like that. Finally, after a few weeks and several phone calls, they agree to refund the cost of the lenses ONLY (not the exam) and only IF I drove back down to Woodhaven to return the lenses. I get why they need the lenses back, but they literally do just throw them away (they can't resell them, obviously). I offered to mail them, or go to a different location. They said no. I still think they should refund the cost of the exam, because I only got the exam in order to get the lenses. They kept saying "well you still got the exam." So my only option was to drive to Woodhaven (60 min round trip) to drop off my lenses just to (hopefully) get a partial refund from people who have shown themselves to be mean, unreasonable, and untrustworthy. I'll never go back to any RX Optical location. I'm back at my old doctor at Michigan Eye Institute and I'm going to stick with him.

I will never return to this place. My daughter needed an updated script for her contacts. We got the eye exam and they told us it was $125 because it was not a traditional eye exam. I understand that contact exams are a different cost. Once they found out we weren't ordering contacts through them the price jumped to over $225. Total scammers! We paid for the eye exam and will never return!

The optical staff , kindly repaired my sister's eyeglasses at no charge, even though she is not their client and is visiting from Sacramento, California. April,who fixed her eyeglasses was extremely helpful -- truly appreciated.
