U-M Kellogg Eye Center in Ypsilanti

No wonder why this place has 2.9 stars. Went to get an eye exam for something, waited 5 minutes at least for the first evaluation, seemed fine. Then when instructed to walk into the lobby, we waited close to 30 minutes to be seen by a doctor. Overall wait times are bad and examinations are okay.

Tiffany was the tech that handled my return second visit after having My yearly checkup with Kellog so purchased glasses elsewhere and they were not right. Tiffany was great in meticulously testing me for issues to find the problem. Very patient and very kind... Was Great in finding out the issue ! Love this place. Tim Trout

The doctor was wonderful and answered my questions. One assistant was extremely rude and impatient. It felt like she had little training. Maybe she was having an off day. She was probably in her late 50s with shoulder length dark hair. Parking is a little tight in the back. The wait wasn't long at all in the waiting room. It's in a great area if you need a bite to eat after your Dr visit, it's only a few miles down the road.

I came to this clinic for a second opinion. I had had three appointments with another clinic but was concerned they weren't equipped to treat my significantly damaged right eye. So far I had been treated with a antibiotic eye drop, a cream, a drop to keep my eye from having tremors and a pain med. All to try to help with the severe pain I was experiencing. It basically felt like sand paper and shards of glass in my eye. Extremely painful. And even with all this I was still having a lot of pain that I was just having to endure. All of this was discussed with Dr. Kaur at my appointment. The assessment of my eye from Kellogg was that I needed either a nerve block or to remove my eye entirely. And to make an appointment to see my retina specialist (I already have one) So obviously pretty significant. Here's my issue. I had asked for a script for a pain med as I was going to run out in a couple days and I wasn't sure when I would be able to get in to see my retina doctor. She sent the script while I was sitting there. For some reason that script did not go through. So for the next 2 days I was in contact with this office trying to figure out what was going on. On Friday I was given a call by a staff member who with all the confidence in the world told me that Dr. Kaur had no idea she was calling in a refill of pain meds (yes she did) for me. Implying I had not told her about my previousprescription. (Which i did) and that the doctor was not in and they couldn't guarantee she would get the message. At that point I was in a panic because now I have to go to the ER to try to get help. The staffer I was on the phone with made a remark that maybe they can give me something stronger. Which felt more like a jab as she had just accused me of lying about pain meds to them. Nor was I seeking anything stronger. The phone call was unprofessional, rude and uncalled for. There was no reason to treat me like a drug addict and not see the patient in severe pain that I am. Maybe next time you all won't judge someone but treat them with the respect they deserve. The respect that was not given to me.

Doctor was amazing with my son..I'd get them a 20 if I cld!! Good place to take ur kids in my opinion thank you!!!

I had the greatest experience at this place! It was by far the best appointment I've ever been to; everything from the front desk to the last person I saw at the desk was incredibly kind, clear with instructions, and welcoming. The assistant and Dr. Bass were incredibly friendly while also helping me get the right contacts. Dr. Bass was really knowledgable and approachable, making sure that I knew everything about the contacts I was getting and answered all my answers without feeling rushed at all. She was incredibly patient-centered - she asked about affordability when weighing options for which contacts to wear and I sincerely appreciated that because it felt like a patient-clinician shared decision making moment. It was my first time here and it thoroughly made my day - who would've thought an eye appointment could make your day!

Very difficult got get a sick appointment, even for urgent cases.

ughh very unprofessional staff in scheduling and those in the office administration are rude and dismissive, unhelpful and always try to give anyone the run-around. Better training and screening of people who are hired there would help.
