New to the state, I was in search of a new optometrist. My first experience with Blue Lakes Eye Care was when I called to ask questions about their acceptance of my vision insurance. The staff who answered the phone was very patient and professional. That's always a big plus for me. Before my call I did a little research on Dr. Emily Bjore and decided to make an appointment for my annual eye exam. I was not disappointed. ALL the front office staff were wonderful, and Edgar did an awesome job guiding me through all the exams prior to meeting with Dr. Bjore. She was very thorough in her explanation of my eye health and I learned about other eye issues that I never knew about before. It was a new experience for me using their modern optical equipment too. I left feeling cared about and secure that my eyes were appropriately examined and with knowledge of how to care for them. I found my new vision home in Minnesota. Thanks Blue Lakes Eye Care!

First off, Dr. Bjore is the best!! When we realized she was at Blue Lakes Eye we couldn't wait to go to her again! Her care is the best mix of super detailed genuine care for your eyes/ vision health and super caring/personable! We chose her to also be the primary eye care for our two younger daughter!

Best eye care experience of my life
Blue Lakes Eye Care gave me the best eye care experience I've ever had.
I called as a brand-new patient at 4:28 p.m. (they close at 4:30) and they still answered, found the earliest opening, verified my vision insurance, and even noted my recent name change so check-in would be smooth.
At the appointment I worked with three different people, including the doctor, and every single one was warm, friendly, and professional. The doctor clearly loves what she does and took time to explain everything, including how their modern equipment helps with long-term eye health.
After the exam, another staff member helped me choose frames based on how I actually use my eyes day to day, walked me through transparent pricing, and made a pair of blue-light glasses that were ready in about 20 minutes. I also picked out a second frame for my prescription glasses that I'll pick up when they're ready.
I've been in upper management for years and it's rare to see a clinic firing on all cylinders like this. Every person there seemed knowledgeable, proud of their work, and focused on the patient.
Highly recommend Blue Lakes Eye Care for any and all eye-care needs.

From start to finish, I had an amazing experience at Blue Lakes! Josie at the front desk was so friendly and did a great job with check-in and explaining the initial tests.
Dr. Bjore is one of the best eye doctors I've seen. She was incredibly thorough and took the time to explain everything--from LASIK and contact lenses to specific eye conditions--and answered all of my many questions. The testing was far more comprehensive than what I'm used to. Even though a few of the additional scans cost a little extra, it was absolutely worth it because I feel like I truly understand my eye health now.
She even checked under my eyelids (which she described as looking like "piano keys") to assess stress and tension from things like computer use. I had no idea that was even something they evaluate or treat! I left feeling confident and well cared for. Highly recommend if you're looking for an eye doctor in Eagan.

The best eye care visit I've ever experienced. Edgar gave me a warm welcome into the office, He was as very knowledgeable with the testing he did before I saw Dr Hegerman. The glasses that I had on weren't fitting correctly so Edgar took time during my exam to fix them. He really cared about me being able to see the best with them. Dr Hegerman does an excellent job explaining my tests results and answering the questions that I had. He really cares about his patients and I'm so happy he opened this warm and welcoming office were everyone genuinely cares about the patients. Rachel picked out several frame options for me and I actually have gotten several compliments on the ones we decided on . I loved the computerized fitting machine because my glasses fit the best of any that I've ever had especially the reading portion on them . I highly recommend this great team at Blue Lakes eye care. Looking forward to my next exam.

Dr Bjore and Edgar were a pleasure to work with and answered all the questions I had in a patient and informative manner. I absolutely loved the option to have the Optimap over having my eyes dilated! They went over all of my health concerns and options in fitting contacts. I also made a same day last minute appointment because I had just run out of contacts. Great local independent eye clinic.
