Dr. Krista Davis and the whole staff were super friendly and kind. I was under extreme eye pain and have stopped at many clinics before Eagan Eye clinic and they were able to get me in and professionally taken care of. Would give 10 stars if I could.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for eye care in the area.
I have been a patient at this clinic for almost 40 years. I go way back to the Dr Paymar days whom I loved having as a doctor. Dr Stout is a wonderful doctor as well as all the staff there!
I would not recommend this place to persons that need accommodations. I am a Deaf person that communicates in Sign Language.
I went to this place for my annual eye exam for 2 or 3 years. At first, they provided an in-person ASL interpreter. The appointment went great. I bought my new glasses from them. There were no issues.
I went back last year for my annual check up. They handed me an IPad with VRI (virtual Relay Interpreter) after I specifically requested an in-person interpreter. That appointment did not go well. I had to hold up the Ipad since there was nothing to prop it up with. I had to take off my glasses, then I couldn't see the interpreter well. I had to ask for instructions with my glasses on, then put the IPad down, take my glasses off, do an exam, put my glasses back on, then pick up the IPad for further explanation/clarifications. The staff got impatient with the situation, which I understood because the whole thing was ridiculous. Same thing happened with the doctor's exam. But it is what happens when corners are cut. It turned the entire appointment into an incredibly frustrating experience for everyone involved.
It didn't end there though. I went ahead and bought new frames and lens. I noticed after a few days that I wasn't seeing very well with them. I called the office to make an appointment to re check the lens or the prescription. The first time I called, the worker on the phone was rude when I asked for an in-person interpreter. Told me flat out that I needed to bring my own. I told her that it was a violation the ADA law. They didn't care. An appointment was not set up that day. I called back another time and asked for an appointment because I really needed my glasses to be fixed. They said I could just walk in. I said ok, mentioned I would go during my lunch break one day. The worker said something like, "What about OUR lunch break? We would like to eat too." I was like oh ok, I didn't realize the office was closed during lunch. She stated they were still open and would see people during lunchtime. She was clearly annoyed that I could only go during lunch time. What she didn't know was that I work full-time, have 2 kids (1 was few months old, the other 2 years old), and genuinely barely could find time to go in. So, lunch break on a work-day was the only time I was child-free.
I ended up never going to get my glasses/prescription re-checked. I didn't feel welcome and I knew my necessary accommodations would not be willingly met. I just put my new glasses in a drawer and started wearing my old ones. I wasted hundreds of dollars on the new glasses that I can't see well out of. I found another clinic that promised me they would always provide an in-person interpreter.
All this is too bad because I had a really good experience at first until they decided to cut corners. And the new glasses are still gathering dust in a drawer somewhere.
First, I will say the eye exam itself and Dr. Stout are excellent. He is very professional, thorough, and patient. Definitely recommend him. However, it went downhill after first meeting with the optician after my exam was completed. I have Davis insurance from MetLife, and at the time of ordering in October 2025 the optician made mention of how "it was difficult" for the clinic to figure out my coverage. I have pretty straightforward coverage for 1 regular dress glasses and 1 safety pair. They submitted at least 5 different claims to insurance, and it took me pro-actively calling insurance to find out none of these were submitted correctly. Claims were continuously denied and the burden should not be on me to do the clinic's job. Also, the clinic charged me an excessive amount up front, and now speaking with insurance it is clear they will be owing me a large refund. Eagan Eye clinic keeps telling me they talked to "billing" and that I should not owe anything else. Well that is obvious because I already paid a lot up front and now am due a refund. Why do you keep telling me this same line when that clearly is not the issue! Very odd they continue to not understand the issue at hand. Everything is still not settled here at the end of February 2026. I am waiting for them to still straighten this out, and don't know how many more claim submissions it will take them to finally get it right. It should not take 4 months for a professional clinic to handle a very basic claim for 2 pairs of glasses. Lastly, the delivery of my glasses from the lab in 2025 got delayed by several weeks because at least 2 different attempts at making a pair failed inspection. Not sure why a minimum of 3 attempts to fabricate a pair of glasses is required if you are a professional. Unfortunately, I don't know if I can recommend this clinic to others with any confidence they will have a different experience from me.
Eagan Eye Clinic is an amazing place. I have never had to wear glasses and contacts my entire life and now that I am 40 I need to. They where super helpful with this transition. Not a huge fan of glasses but they made it bearable. Nothing but nice things to say about Eagan Eye Clinic and will be going here for years to come. :)
The first eye doctor I ever seen dressed like CEO this place is very clean and the staff are amazing best place to go for checking your eyes i never seen a place like this 10/1000000000 shout out to Dr Benjamin Stout thanks sir
I have been going to Dr Stout for years. Very nice, always friendly staff, very communicative, and very timely appointments.
I've been a long-term patient from probably 2017, and I am constantly impressed by the team. Dr. Stout is an amazing doctor and easy to work with. He's informative and professional. All of the front desk staff and the practice manager are friendly and personable. They are straightforward with prices/costs. Every time I come, I know what to expect, and it is always a smooth process. Keep up the good work! It's amazing how much this clinic has improved and the transformation it took.
