Costco Optical Department

There are two parts to this: the independent optometrist and the optical shop. Dr. Stensos was my optometrist and did an excellent job. He was quick and efficient, but also friendly and nice to talk to. I paid cash for the exam which came to $120 for the exam + $40 for the optomap. My optician also did a lovely job. She helped me sort through a bunch of frames and get over my indecision. I came away have selected 2 lovely frames for my glasses and backup glasses as well as a frame for my sunglasses. It was overall a pleasant and quick experience, and I highly recommend anyone to at least bring their existing prescription and shop the glasses, Costco's prices are unbeatable!

Dr. Clark is great! Took the time to show and explain to me the issues I am having with my eyes. Thorough and up to date technology. I also enjoyed his sense of humor and kindness. Costco staff are helpful and knowledgeable. It's a busy store and they definitely have to multitask to keep up. I felt like I was completely focused on when it was my turn. Just had to wait a bit before I was helped.

I had a great exam with Dr. Clark. There's a good selection of frames. Prices of those and of lenses are fair. The 2 customer service people were just okay, though. I knew I wanted to switch to progressive lenses from bifocals, and was given a bit of a hard time about that.

Dr. Clark is great. His equipment is amazingly modern. He can get a beautiful picture of your retinas without dilating your eyes which is the best! And, a full eye exam including retinal pictures was less than half what I paid for an eye exam at an ophthalmology office. We will be coming here from now on!

I have always had great service and products from Costco optical. I often buy frames elsewhere and purchase the lenses from Costco. they are quick, cost-effective, have great service, and I've always been happy with my purchase.

Very disappointed. My glasses were always smudged and I could not read small print so I took them back to Costco they said problem was my face oil was getting on glasses so they adjusted the nose piece on glasses. No help so I returned to my eye doctor. She couldn't understand why they were so smudged all the time either but did say the bifocal started to low. Returned again to Costco. They refused to return my glasses so I had to get new glasses and upgrade the glass for another $40 so hopefully they won't t continuously smudge. Very frustrating. I've worn glasses for 30 years and never had this problem. I thought Costco guaranteed satisfaction on all products !!!!!!!

The eye exam, not owned by Costco, is a total scam. Even with vision insurance, the exam cost $135 out of pocket. It should have been a $15 co-pay. And the next day, they called and said I owed another $15. The basic exam is an incomplete, can you read this.... The rest of the exam, the important parts, result in extra fees. The doctor is very nice but the person that schedules exams is rude and incompetent regarding insurance. You are much better off going to Pearle Vision, complete exam for $15 co-pay and much more advanced equipment than Costco. Then take your prescription to Costco to get glasses or contacts; much better price and guarantee than Pearle.

Dr. Clark is the best! Not only does he have the best equipment/technology to ensure the best eye health, he is super friendly and personable. My kids and I have been seeing Dr. Clark for years and excited that he is now at the St. Louis Park office too! Highly recommend
