Amy B. Steinman, OD: Discover Vision Centers

I have been going to Discovery myself and see Dr Butcher who is amazing. When I was unable to get an appointment for my 5 year old twins with Childrens mercy, I called Northland Discover and was assured that Dr Steinman was capable of working with small children for an eye exam. When we arrived we went through tests with the tech for over an hour and a half which went fairly well. When Dr Steinman came in, she seemed frustrated with my children right off of the bat and was sighing and generally rude. This made both of my children just clam up and get nervous. She was unable to work with them to finish the exam and was rude with me over it. Then I was made to wait for 15 minutes at the checkout desk for the office manager to set up a referral to us elsewhere. At this point we had been there for 2.5 hours. Finally got tired of waiting and asked for them to check in with the office manager who was wonderful and came out to talk to me and apologized because she was told that we had left and didn't know that we were waiting for her. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a medical provider for my children. I absolutely do not recommend Dr Steinman if you have small children.
