My first and, I hope only encounter with Dr. Desai, was awful. However, let me first start with the long appt. which was from 9:00 AM until 10:40 AM. I finally saw Dr.Desai from 10: 30 AM to 10:40 AM. During my 10 min. visit with Dr. Desai again, was one of the worst visits I have ever experienced at Sabates Eye Clinic, over the past 20 years. Dr. Desai was rude, rushed the vist in both action and speech, appearing impatient and disrespectful. For example, she informed me I would have to schedule cataract surgery on my left eye. I stated, I am scheduled for knee surgery in April. (My way of Informing her that my upcoming surgery was my focus at this time). Instead of her acknowleding my consern with understanding, Her reply to me was "We are not talking about your knee we are talking about your eye!" As if I were a demented patient and had no clue that I was at Sabates Eye Clinic. To add more fuel to a flame, she started talking fast and when I repeated what I thought I heard, she replied "That is not what I am talking about" in a very curt and condescending tone. (Dr Roland Sabates was my ophthalmologist for over fifteen years prior to his retirement. Since then I have spent years looking for an ophthalmologist but found none with a chairside manner like his). I chose Sabates eye clinic due to the past professional care and concern I had experienced with Dr. Roland Sabetes in hopes I would have a chance to gain a similar patient doctor relationship . I don't want to see Dr. Desai anymore and from her attitude the feeling is mutual. Please schedule my 6 month appt with an Ophthalmologist that is not disrespectful showing appeared contempt for people of color or the Elderly. Thank you.

Very caring employees! We're all nervous when going and everyone makes you feel so comfortable. Thank you for awesome doctors and associates!

I was in and out of there in record time! The intake person,can't remember his name, but he was an absolute pleasure! The whole team were very polite, efficient, and informative they explained everything in great layman's terms. This is the place to go for all your optical needs,one stop place!

Busy but efficient. Friendly, Professional, clean. Disappointed to learn that my Cataract surgery is moved to Leawood, KS. That gives me a 80 mile round trip on 11/21/25! I hope I don't get lost that morning.

Dr. Desai has been my opthamologist for years now and is exceptionally professional, patient, and receptive. I would recommend her without hesitation.

Everyone was pleasant and courteous. I did not have to wait long to be seen. It was a very pleasant experience.

Sabates eye clinic was a positive experience for me. The support staff who did my intake eye exam and imaging procedures were warm and funny, which helped ease my anxieties. The reason for 5 stars is Dr Desai's willingness to answer my questions, explain procedures, and be honest about risks vs. benefits of treatment options. This was individualized, personal medical care for which I am grateful.

I have always been satisfied and happy when I have seen Dr. D. I feel she is a very competent eye doctor.
