Unprofessional, horrible and unorganized establishment. I went there about 2 months ago specifically knowing that I needed glasses. I do wear contacts on the weekends so I said what the heck I can get my contact prescription as well. AS A HEADS UP THAT'S INCORRECT!!!!!!! A regular eyeglasses exam is completely different than a contact eye exam. Maybe that's "my bad" but I did NOT know that. My complaint is about the staff just sitting around not doing anything, when they could've simply gave me a "heads up" since this is definitely their realm. So if your insurance is like mine and only pays for one or the other once a year, you're screwed. If someone there would've given me a little heads up about it, I would've opted for just the eyeglasses exam which is what I needed. VERY UNSATISFIED AND WILL NEVER BE RETURNING.
I went to Professional Eye Care today for an eye exam. Before we could get started they needed to verify my insurance coverage. My insurance is kind of weird in the sense where you have to call them to verify my coverage. The woman that was helping me word for word said "they're probably going to be closed and I have too many other things to do so I cant help you right now. You will need to reschedule." I'm a manager in the fast food industry and if I were to say this to any of my customers, i can promise you it would not play out well. Very poor customer service on PECs part. I can assure you I cancelled my appointment and will not be returning. I know I'm only one person but you just lost someone that could have been a life long loyal customer.
I will NEVER GO BACK TO THIS EYE DOCTOR again.
The receptionist told me my contact and eyeglass exam would cost me $130. Little did I know they were going to send me a bill for $292 on top of my on-site payment. I've never had to pay $422 for a basic eye exam at any eye doctor. A total waste of money! I called to complain and fix the billing situation, but the manager, DANIELLE, said she couldn't do anything about it. I should've stuck with my old eye doctor at Costco, cost me $140 flat. DANIELLE, the manager, told me that I had to pay $292 more because they sent my bill to my medical insurance. I told them that I didn't have eye insurance and I've never had to use it in the past because of the low cost. She insisted their company requires insurance and can't take patients without it. Little did I know the eye doctor was going to claim I have a medical condition and not prescribed me anything to fix my so-called "medical condition". They sent the bill to my medical insurance and because I didn't make my deductible yet, they're charging me for the doctor finding this so-called medical condition. Load of B.S.!!!
On top of the high cost, the eye doctor gave me the wrong prescription for my contacts. I went a full day with the wrong contact strength in the wrong eye because of how they labeled it. I called to complain and instead of getting an 'I'm sorry', I was talked to in a rude manner! Unprofessional!
Go somewhere else if you need contacts or glasses! It's an absolute waste of time and money at Lens Crafters at Zona Rosa.
I was a little nervous about making an appointment based on the reviews but their office in Zona Rosa was very convenient for me and I really didn't think an optometrist affiliated with Lens Crafters could be that bad. I found Dr. Farris to be very knowledgeable and professional. Besides having the eye exam I had a sty on my eyelid which had been causing me some discomfort. She took multiple pictures for me to see the problem and clearly explained what I needed to do. I also appreciated the fact that since my prescription had not changed much at all they did not push me into getting new glasses. Overall I was very pleased with the service and will continue to use them for my eyecare in the future.
I have to apologize...I previously gave Professional Eye Care a very bad review based on my own bad assumptions and misinformation. I felt justified in my previous review because others said the same thing, so clearly, we all must be right...(sarcasm font). I received a call from PEC and they explained the charges and my insurance coverage. People, be sure you understand your insurance benefits and what all is covered and what isn't. My coverage had changed and I didn't even know it! Today, I went back for my contact lens follow up before ordering my contacts and had a great experience! The Manager, Tracy, was especially helpful in determining how to order my contacts so that I get the most out of my benefits. So PEC, sorry I was out of line and less than graceful before...you're all doing a great job! God bless!
I've been getting contacts for 8 years now and never have had to pay a dime for my eye exam until coming to this place. They claimed to have found some medical condition which they didn't treat and barely even mentioned, other than a "that's interesting".
Because of this "medical condition" they sent my bill to my medical insurance instead of my vision insurance which covers 100%. When I called for an explanation I got the equivalent of " what's done is done".
Luckily I have good medical insurance as well and it only cost $53. But I know others aren't as lucky so my advice to you is go elsewhere and not take your chance with this incompetent place.
My husband and I both desperately needed new glasses, but we never seem to be able to find a sitter for our 1 1/2 year old. The staff was very understanding and really helped us be able to get in our exams and select new glasses without everything going kablooey. Awesome service, really strongly recommend!
After driving 2 hours to your location and a lab tech in house, but, the lab being closed he was assigned to the sales floor. Would have been nice to have gotten my emergency glasses the same day instead of having to make a second trip 4hour round trip. The staff was courteous and very helpful.
