Visionworks Ward Parkway Center

No written diagnosis or referral. No help for Kansas Driver License renewal. Poor communication and customer service, not helpful. l I saw Dr. William Murphy at Visionworks on Ward Parkway. DON'T GO THERE. A picture of my eyes was on the big screen and he said he had never seen anything that bad and referred me to a specialist. No other explanation. I had to ask where I was being referred. They said Retina Associates (RA). I reviewed documents when I got home. There was nothing in writing about my diagnosis or where they were referring me. I had to call them back about my diagnosis. She put me on hold to ask Doctor who said I had drusen (the worst he had ever seen.) So I google and it's about macular degeneration , which is about LOSING MY EYESIGHT. I can't get in to RA for 2.5 months. So I fret about LOSING my eye sight until I can get in. RA says yes, I have drusen but just a little bit on the side of one of my eyes. Macula is fine, Whew! That was SCARY. . Why does Dr. Murphy say its the worst he has ever seen? Inexperienced? In addition, I'm getting an eye exam to renew KS driver license online. I told them this when I came in. I review papers and I don't have what I need. There is a drop down option on DMV website to select doctor. He is not on there. Visionworks said it made sense to them he wasn't listed on Kansas DMV website. I guess he is Missouri based? Hmmm...This Visionworks is on State Line Road ACROSS THE STREET from Kansas. Can I get a form sent to me to upload to website. NO. They don't have Kansas forms. They have Missouri and Illinois but NO Kansas. WHAT?? BUT I CAN BRING IN THE FORM and he will complete. WHAT? I might as well go to DMV and do the eye exam there. I never dreamed going to Visionworks in Missouri which is across the street from Kansas wouldn't have what I need for Kansas. This is messed up! Don't waste your time with Dr William Murphy or Visionworks. They are poor communicators, unorganized, inefficient and lazy.

All the staff were very helpful, exceptional service. The eye exam went very well and easy. Then when it was time to pick glasses they were very helpful and very patient with me, I spent a very long time trying to find the pair of glasses, I never felt rushed. I was very happy with their help, the young lady was so kind and helpful. They answered all my many questions and helped me to no end. I highly recommend this store and the employees.

The Ladies and Dr made the appointment super easy. They helped me with my exam and explained fully what we was doing and even helped me with my new glasses. They listened and helped according to what I needed. Was truly a great experience

Roxi saved the day for my husband today! Broken glasses on a Saturday and he hadn't been to the eye doctor in almost a decade so needed a full exam to get a prescription. After calling 1/2 a dozen places Visonworks was the first one that even was remotely helpful! Drove 40 minutes to get there and the in office exam and telemedicine dr. appointment couldn't have gone smoother!! Shout out to Howard and the remote tech & doc too! 10 out of 10! Highly recommend!

Visionworks @ Ward Parkway Center Ward Parkway has plenty of parking and handicap accessible parking as well as handicap accessible doors. Visionworks @ Ward Parkway Center is lit well but sadly that exposes the dirty carpet which includes water stains that are from a roof leaking. Staff is helpful, however I was told my original pick the arms could be bent to fit which wasn't the case and the glasses lense bifocal weren't Set to my eye distance. The glasses were replaced with and the nose piece had to be adjusted twice and the nose pads changed to a softer material as the glasses were hurting my nose.

Went in for a new prescription and received my prescription for glasses but didn't get the prescription for contacts. I went in for contacts and wasn't given the prescription when I looked in the envelope I received after checking out. Now I have to go back and ask why I wasn't given it. Just taking time out of my day to go when I should have been given it when I checked out.

Vision work has been my go to for many years now no matter what location I always get a 10 plus services from staffing to the eye doctors! Thank you all for your expertise and knowledge and dedication to your jobs.

My glasses were made with wrong prescription. Spoke to Vision Works Gen.Mgr.Lacy O'Connell. Sent her copy of the reading for the previous glasses and she immediately said we will get a new complete pair of glasses made with no cost to you. Thanks Lacy for the excellent service. Received the new pair in a week. We will be back again .
