Lind Optical

Booked my husband an appointment 2 months ago since they were booked out so far, only for them to cancel his appointment day of. Do NOT recommend unless you want to go without eye care for months just to get cancelled on.

Terribly disappointing! After cataract surgery my eyes were examined and an eye glass prescription was given to me. I took the prescription to a different optical business and had an extremely expensive pair of eye glasses ordered. In the meantime I brought in old frames and asked to have the same prescription made at Lind Eye Care. I received the glasses from the other optical provider . When I put them on the right eye was blurry. They checked the prescription and said it was right. It was suggested I have my Optometrist reexamine my eyes to see if there was an error in the prescription. I called Lind to make and pay for yet another eye exam and asked to put a hold on making the new lenses at Lind Optical. Unfortunately I was told it was too late-they were already being made, I had to accept them. At the next of several eye exams it was discovered my eyes had changed and a different prescription was needed and not to worry I was guaranteed a remake. I was so despondent over the poor vision results of the cataract surgery, the huge expense of the other eye glasses made from the previous prescription, the Lind eyeglass prescription order that couldn't be cancelled and would probably count as my one remake (and it did), the months I had spent flipping between readers and sunglasses and I was reassured things could be worked out with the other optical provider and Lind Optical so in good faith the new prescription was ordered from Lind Optical. Of course, it took longer than I was told. When I put them on my close up vision was blurry. She said to take them home and try them out which I did. I figured out the lenses were made with the close up vision focal point being way too low. I asked if they would redo the lenses correctly and was told I already had a remake and there was nothing they could do. I also pointed out there is a sharp piece on the left lense. She told me it was the bead wire. She said she could fix it but it would be a different color than the wire used on the right lense. What kind of stupid resolution is this to an expensive pair of new glasses? So I am stuck with a pair of glasses that cost over $500 which fail to provide correct vision. Lind Optical suggested I make another appointment to have my eyes tested again. More money and more time spent that would still result in my having to pay for another set of glasses and another eye exam after I have had and paid for so many eye exams in conjunction with the cataract surgery. I am so frustrated and disappointed that I am looking for somewhere else to get a new eye exam and buy new eyeglasses since I was told different information and given different outcomes. I have been a client for many, many years and spent a lot of money on eyeglasses at Lind Optical-my insurance does not cover eyeglasses. A most disappointing outcome that has me searching for a new optical shop.

My lenses had become scratched by various reasons but were still under guarantee. A quick consultation with the optics people over the phone and it was determined new lenses could be ordered. I was told two weeks but it was about a week. I came in for an hour while they fitted my new lenses to the frames and the bill came to zero. I am most pleased with the both the service and alacrity in which was accomplished. By the way, there is no real scratch fix out there on the open market that does not involved sanding, thus changing the prescription specs.

Great service, kind and knowledgeable doctor and staff. I can see much better with my new glasses and am grateful to have Lind Optical in Kearney. I recommend Dr. Betsy Turk for your next eye exam.

My husband, Harold, was in for a new prescription/exam recently. He is so excited with his new lenses! He can read and see so much better. He had prisms added to his lenses. THANK YOU!

Over all was satisfied./ Some disappointment in the bottom lenses which I assume was for reading. The top is very good in watching T V etc. Bottom is useless for reading newspaper. etf. Don Clark
