I have been going to this office for years, but unfortunately I will have to find an office that treats their patients with dignity and respect. Dr. Dowd did not listen to my concerns about my contacts being uncomfortable, she actually told me they were supposed to be uncomfortable. I've now spent close to a thousand dollars on glasses and contacts that are not right and cause me extreme discomfort. I tried to bring up my concerns to the front desk because I didn't understand why I kept having to pay for contact fittings when I'm being given the wrong contacts and I have never dealt with a more unprofessional staff. One of the staff members raised her voice at me on the phone, saying "I'm not going to argue with you about this," instead of listening to what I was saying at all. I brought up how I've tried to leave voicemails and they are never responded to and she told me that they called me back and left a voicemail which absolutely did not happen. Do not waste your time and money here.
I was extremely happy with the eye appointment and the exam.
Doctor Haskell is absolutely amazing , she is thoughtful , caring, kind, polite and very pleasant. It was my first visit and it won't be my last .
When I arrived at the entrance , I was very short of breath from my heart issue, to my surprise and extreme appreciation I was pleasantly greeted by an employee who immediately said, can I get you a glass of water. This employee, Kirstin , made my day, she is such a special lady who truly cares about others , she knows the true meaning of the words , kindness and being thoughtful
. She is a asset to this business
Every now and then you happen upon a business that completely exceeds expectations. This was my experience with Dover Eye Care. Everyone was super busy but took the time to fit me in, hook me up and get me back to work. Thank you for your help. Highest recommendation.
I had a new patient appointment last week to get contacts, with a fit check for the following week. I was told, multiple times by the Dr., Aslam (very sweet, very kind) that if the contacts felt fine, that I could cancel the appointment. I called to do that and was told very blunty by the front desk that I needed to keep the appointment. I stated that I was confused, because I was told I could cancel it if I felt like they were working well. She very bluntly told me that was wrong. I said I wasn't able to keep the appointment anymore because I thought I didn't have to. She said she'd cancel it and hung up on me.
What in the twilight zone was that? Very odd. Very blunt. Very inconsistent. Just an uncomfortable experience overall.
While the dr I see is fine, the staffing leaves plenty to be desired. I also work in a professional office where we have to answer & return calls & schedule appointments & know how hard it can be when the office is busy. HOWEVER. This place fails to return calls or emails. Ever. I have called 6-8 times over the last 2 months to schedule my eye exam (which must be done yearly due to my prescription). I have never received a call, email, or text back.
They also fail to correct billing errors, and treat the patient like they are the stupid one when an error is brought to their attention. About 4 years ago, one of the staff members in the check out area actually brought me to tears with her rudeness when I asked why part of my bill wasn't billed to insurance.
Never again. This practice isn't worth the hassle. I wonder if they will respond to my request to send my records to my new provider?
Edited to add: my review was responded to in 42 minutes. Guess responding to a bad review is more important than scheduling patient appointments.
What a terrible office! I want to preface that I was with Westwood Eye Care in MA for 20+ years but having moved to the Dover area a few years ago, I decided to find a local office for convenience. I've had glasses since I was 4 so I know how the exams go, etc. I got Dr. Ting at Dover Eye and she couldn't be anymore monotoned or unenthusiastic to be helping you during the exam. Not a big selection of glasses, either. Two weeks go by and my trial contacts and new frames are in with the updated prescription. You also have to pick up your items in the waiting room.... Really? (Photo attached). I put the glasses on and the lenses are SO THICK. The frames were flat when I looked at them on the display and these ones were rounded due to the "frames". Really? I wear them for 20mins and knew something was off. It was like she switched my left eye prescription for my right and vice versa. Tried the contacts... same issue. Call them back to a re-examination and she's like, "oh it looks like I flipped the eyes..." I'm like "that's what I thought". Then she took back what she said and said she didn't mess up! YES YOU DID! Anyways, got a new exam done and she strengthens my prescription. Got the new trial contacts and updated glasses 2 weeks later and they're still all messed up.
After that, I decided to call my old eye doctor 2hrs south of me and they took me two days later and said what Dover Eye gave me was SO off. I got another exam done with Westwood and the prescription is completely different. Dover Eye is a joke. They're so busy and just treat you like a number. I decided to return the glasses this week and I had to call back after 24hrs because they said they would issue the refund and didn't. Do yourself a favor.. read the negative reviews and stay away from this office.

Exemplary service, professional in every respect, topped off with the perfect product offerings. Dover Eye Care won my trust and confidence from the moment I walked in to the moment my perfect glasses arrived safely in Thailand exactly as they had promised, and they are perfect. The staff went out of their way to meet my special needs. Exceptional!
My wife ordered lenses and frames over a month ago and we are still waiting for them. She calls and can barely get any feedback. Absolutely ridiculous.
