Dr. Michael J. Caruso, DO

As usual Dr. Caruso is amazing. In a recent annual exam appointment (June 2025) he was extremely thorough and efficient. Personable and friendly, he puts a patient at ease immediately. Patient questions are thoughtfully answered with great expertise. Yen was incredibly precise in her exam and recording detail. The office staff and lab staff are great. Thank you Dr. Caruso and Horizon Eye Care.

Dr Caruso and his staff are wonderful. The process they use with patient flow through the various procedures is great. I never have to wait. He can see you the same day if you're experiencing a problem. I'm diabetic and I am at ease with him and trust that he is keeping a keen eye on my situation. Amazing experience! I've been a patient for 8 years. Love him.

My wife was an established patient at Atlantic Eye Center. When I told her that I need to switch from a VA Optometrist to an ophthalmologist because my cataracts were impacting my ability to read and drive at night, she strongly suggested Dr. Caruso. I am glad I followed her advice. I am the process of having cataracts removed from both eyes.Having undergone surgery on one eye, my experience with Dr. Caruso and his staff gives me the highest confidence that I am in the right hands, . My appointments start promptly on time; his staff is highly competent, professional, and compassionate; Dr. Caruso himself is friendly, accessible, thorough in his diagnostic procedures, and clearly states his findings and recommendations so one has clear options and can make the right decision. I cannot recommend Atlantic Eye Center too strongly.

They overbook patients. There must have been 20 people in that waiting room all waiting for one doctor at the same time. I was there for about 2 hours and finally left. I never did see the doctor. I used to go to Dr. Caruso when he was at his other location (in Northfield) and it was not like this. This was more like a "free clinic" - just rows and rows of chairs, filled with people sitting there and being shuffled around for hours. It was more like going to the DMV than a physician. Dr. Caruso is an excellent doctor, but I will never go back.

Recently I had cataracts removed from both eyes. Couldn't be more pleased with dr. Caruso and his entire staff. Very knowledgeable very professional a great experience and I thank the Lord I can now see better .thank you dr. Caruso and your entire staff.

Although I have not met the man, I have friends and relatives who have had the good fortune to be cared for by Dr. Caruso and his staff; they've had positive things to say.about his practice, e.g., 'he and his staff are kind and empathetic'; 'he is knowledgeable and thorough'; 'he is prompt'; 'his office is comfortable and welcoming', etc. It's not easy to find all of that in one package . Hats off and thank you to a standout physician and his staff..

I had a cataract removed, i was terrified. Dr Caruso and his staff made the whole process easy and scary free. Next one will be a breeze. Would totally recommend him.

My mother went here and was told she'd need glasses, she didn't want the glasses and they reported her to the DMV and now, at great personal expense, she has to book a driving school instructor to take her up to May's Landing to perform a Driver's test. While my mother was at fault for not taking the glasses, I feel that the Dr had the responsibility to inform her that if she refused them, he would have to report her and she might be contacted by the DMV...he never did that. Shame on them for doing that to her.
