Cranford Eye Care

I would like to pass along my experience with Cranford eye care,, on 12/31/2025 I needed a immediate consultation on a irritation in my right eye and Pam at the front desk and Doctor Hoang helped me quickly and efficiently. A great experience all around.

I've been extremely pleased with both the office staff attention and the Dr's professional care . I have found that the Dr takes her time and explains everything carefully and offers information and options without hesitation . There is no 'high sell '; only up to the minute testing and a desire to help to the highest degree. All of my calls were quickly answered by the very pleasant office staff and it was easy to make a appointment at a convenient time . Couldn't be more satisfied .

I had an eye emergency. The receptionist listened attentively, spoke to the Dr. And the doctor had me come right in. She fit me in on a Saturday morning. The doctor was kind, empathetic, skilled and gracious. The receptionist was the key to having me squeezed in. I am grateful for Cranford Eye Care Center. I was treated very well!

Dr Hoang has been seeing my mom and I for years. She is extremely passionate, respectful, and knowledgeable. I make a 40 minute commute to her office because of how great Dr Hoang and her staff is. I would recommend her people looking for a new eye doctor! Her staff is friendly as well and takes good care of the patients as well.

Amazing doctor and staff at Cranford Eye Care... no-nonsense, no upselling, and minimal wait time. I do wish the doctor explained things a bit more thoroughly (eg what did she drop in my eye? Haha) M, but overall the best experience I could ask for.

I am torn, I do like the doctor but the front staff is horrible. Not answering phones during bus hours, not responding to voicemails left asking for a call back (bc they didn't answer the phone..). This week I called them (as requested by the doctor) to let them know which contact I liked better, and knowing them, I asked twice to confirm they would call me back to let me know they are placing the order (after speaking to the doctor). Guess what, 2 days later, no call back! So down to the last contacts and I have to chase them down again. So customer unfriendly! Ultimately I do blame the doctor for not hiring competent or friendly staff...

Went to Cranford eye care for the first time for both of my boys this past winter. Both of them have been wearing glasses since they were two years old. Never in my life have I experienced such nonsense when it came to getting their lenses exchanged under the warranty that is offered. I purchased their glasses last January and I recently noticed that both pair of lenses were scratched up. The lenses are polycarbonate and yet 6 months later they have scratches all over them- I don't know what vendor they used to save an extra buck but now when I called to use the one year warranty that came with the lenses, they are telling me that my 11 year old son that has astigmatism in both of his eyes and cannot see without his glasses has to be without them for a week. Knowing this, the doctor did not offer a reasonable solution but told me that that's the policy for this lens vendor they used. I find it ridiculous that in order for me to have my son's lenses fixed (which are still under warranty) he needs to be without them for one week! If you plan on going here, I would think twice!

This review really pertains to the pricing and business practices of the office. I am new to New Jersey and I was shopping around for different eye doctors to see who was charging the least for a contact fitting fee. I really don't understand how/why those are necessary because I've been wearing the same contact lenses for about 15 years. Hence, there's little to no additional work required. I called the office and the receptionist said the doctor would charge me $40 for the contact fitting. Later that week, I went in for the eye exam. The exam was standard and all that was done in the contact lens realm was a look as to how my current lenses fit inside my eyes - nothing extra was done to justify an excessive contact fitting fee. When I went to pay, I was told by the receptionist that the fitting fee was $60! She insisted that certain billing practices were mandated by law. Example: that it's the law to charge for a contact fitting. I would love to see the administrative code that mandates eye doctors to charge their patients $60 for a contact fitting. Reluctantly, I paid them $75 (fitting fee + my co-pay). A couple months later I received a (second) notice in the mail stating that I owed them an ADDITIONAL $20 because they made a mistake with my insurance (they provided NO proof of this). I called and asked why they didn't call me if there was an issue because I never received the alleged first notice. I was told that it's their policy to only send written notices AND to charge late fees. That may be their policy, but it's common courtesy to give a valued patient a quick telephone call. I would not recommend this doctor nor the staff she employees. Save your money and go elsewere.
