Dr. Shawn R. Klein, MD

I was referred to Klein (Elmwood office) for a minor procedure and had a consult with him which was normal, but on the day of the procedure all the following happened: - upon arrival I was told by staff that I needed to pay $1,000 that day to get to procedure done when i was previously told it would be a regular copay - as he was about to begin, he went to check my chart and couldn't find my records leaving me to wait 15 minutes after the numbing drops had already been applied - he yelled at his staff in the room as he was doing the procedure on me about the room not being stocked with proper supplies. That staff member had to leave the room 3 times during a 10 minute procedure to get different items - he did not provide instructions about aftercare even when prompted. However, his front desk staff was able to provide basic info on followup - she was the only professional person there Medically, he did the procedure fine and there were no issues there, but all of the issues outlined above made me feel unsafe. I understand that setting up a new office has roadbumps, but this was too many problems to use that as an excuse.

I've been a patient of Dr. Klein for many years. After every appointment, I've left his office feeling grateful for the attention and care he provides. He's communicated treatment options thoroughly and explained benefits and risks clearly. His office staff is very friendly and accommodating. Thank you Dr. Klein for being so helpful with my eye issues!

Dr. Klein performed cataract surgery on me about a year ago and it's been life changing. Perfect vision and no more glasses. I was very nervous before the surgery and I attribute it to watching too many You Tube videos about cataract surgery while I only needed to rely on Dr. Klein's advise and guidance.

Dr. Klein is great! He removed a cataract in one eye, & I now have perfect vision. His office staff is very nice & I never have to wait long to be seen. I definitely recommend Dr. Klein.

I've been a patient for this practices for about 7 yrs. I had cataract surgery on both eyes by Dr. Shawn Klein and it was excellent no need for glasses afterward. Dr. Klein is the best eye doctor and I highly recommend him. I'm from out of state and needed a pterygium surgery removal. I went to many different doctors in my area who told me I could not be helped and if a surgery was done, my eye would look cosmetically terrible after. After over a year of searching, I found out about Dr. Klein and his ISOWhite technique that uses a glue instead of stitches. He emailed with me and answered all my questions prior to and after the surgery - really great communicator. My experience was very good overall - I was seen quickly, they verified my eye issue in person as I had sent in photos prior that Dr. Klein used to decide about the surgery. Dr. Klein explained everything before the surgery. I was SO nervous having needles/blades/ scissors etc in my eyeball while fully awake, but Dr Klein was so kind and excellent and did the surgery fast. I was told by local doctors after the surgery that he did the best graft they had ever seen. I hope this review helps someone else who is looking for a highly skilled doctor! It was well worth the travel. I also want to add the surgery was way more affordable than other quotes I had received.
