I did want to get an oftalmologist prescription to apply for my disability plantkard for my vehicle at MVC, NJ.
I got excellent welcome for receptionist, all technicians managed all oftalmologist devices else.
When I see Dr Maley, wasn't sure if he will approve my disability prescription to apply at MVC at new jersey facility.
I got for a wrongful medical procedure since 2009 a glaucoma progressive condition that I've been working on to heal, unfortunately not any oftalmologist can work on positive. Visiting other abroad countries.
Well Dr. Maley denied my disability, after tons of scans and devices, showing my degraded macula and my glaucoma, saying, you have one good eye..you can drive in New Jersey legally, I did have last 15 years a disability plantkard but Dr. Maley left without answer me my request.
So I spent three hours because no towards business, I didn't get my disability prescription no plantkard, just wasting money and time
This was my first visit to Philip's and Dr Gabay. She was excellent in explaining the issues and what she was going to do. I was extremely comfortable with her and the proceedures for both eyes. My wife had her eyed done here and same Doctor. I recommend Philip's Eye Center. The testing prior to meeting with the Doctor was through.
I would NEVER recommend this place. My son had a 1:30 appt. We got there at 1:15 to fill out paperwork. By 2:30 we were still not called in. I asked the girl at the desk how much longer to be called in and she said 3 HOURS, which would have been maybe 4:30 just to be called in. I thought she was kidding but she was not. Apparently, she said that's how it is there and if I wanted I could reschedule. Seriously?! I took the day off work for this. I told her why didn't anyone tell me the wait is this long??. She said the Call Center is supposed to tell people because the office never speaks to anyone when making appts. I told her they never said the wait is this long. She said, well it's always like this. If you want to come back on March 17th at 7am you might be only 2 hours to wait if you come for an early appointment. Ridiculous. They have no care or concern. I will be looking for a different doctor.
Miserable vist overall, the girls were rude at check in, dismissing my arrival at the front desk so they could finish their personal conversation. Once I gave my name, the girl didn't know how to spell my first name. After waiting 35 minutes I asked the receptionist if the dr was in yet, she said yes he's with another patient. Then I asked her how many patients were before me. She responded you should be called shortly. I repeated the question, how many patients were scheduled before me if the dr starts at 8am and my appointment is 830 why am I waiting so long with still one more patient before me. Her response was, "you ask such odd questions "
1.5 hours later I see the dr who says my field test was better this time and ask him if he could help me understand the outcome of the first test. He tells me just give me a chance to read over your chart. He basically was reading my information as if this was the first time we met when I've been a patient for years. When he was done reading he asked if he answered my question, I said no and repeated my question. He said, oh that's a hypertheoical question and dismissed me. I think it's time for me to finally move on from Phillips Eye Center as their staff continues to worsen over the years which now seems to be rolling over onto the drs poor bedside manner
I was taken care of promptly and professionally. The staff is patient and competent. The building is brand new or at least extremely well-maintained, there is plenty of parking, and it is easy to get here from various areas.
The staff was great and very experienced. They were also very polite. Dr. Maley was the best and his assistant Jessica was the best also.!!! everything went very smoothly today 2/17/2026 Doug Dee !!!!
Dr Gupta is the absolute best!!! I enjoy the staff. However, the wait times are exhausting. 2hrs total: You should not have to wait an 45min, go through the pre-process 15min, sit in another room to wait to be seen by your doc for 45min, and them 15 min spent with your doc.
From the friendly secretary, who was kind and very polite. Then we met Amy who was phenomenal took her time with mom's exam explained how everything will go step by step .All the way to the doctor nothing but excellence . Great office
January 7th was mom's surgery on her right eye. What an amazing experience with the whole entire staff. From front desk all the down yo the doors. Highly recommend this office
