I am really surprised by some of the recent negative reviews. I had a very good experience at this clinic. The receptionist was friendly and quick. I was seen right away and Dr Chen was thorough and patient in answering my questions. I felt well taken care of here.

Disappointing experience overall. a friendly front desk, no issues there. I visited the clinic on the 31st for an eye infection, hoping to get relief. I returned twice within a span of 7 days, but instead of improving, the infection worsened and the pain increased. The doctor advised waiting another 4 days before referring me to a specialist. Given the severity of the symptoms, I decided not to wait and sought care elsewhere. Within 2 days of seeing another provider, I began to feel significant improvement. For routine eye examinations, this clinic may be fine. However, for more serious eye conditions, I would recommend seeking a specialized provider. I usually don't write reviews, but this one felt more serious.

The front desk staff maintain a friendly demeanor when scheduling or checking in for appointments, likely to attract and retain new patients. However, their attitude changes noticeably after the appointment, becoming dismissive and unprofessional. Patients are not provided with a copy of their visit summary, medical report, or prescription by default; instead, they are told to request these documents explicitly. Even then, the clinic requires a full business day to provide basic records that most healthcare facilities, including specialists and urgent care centers, issue immediately after the visit. The quality of the provided documentation is also concerning--important details are missing, and the report contains multiple spelling and grammatical errors, which reflect poorly on the clinic's professionalism and attention to detail.

I had a very disappointing experience with Citilight Optometry at 30 Mall Drive West, Suite 100, Jersey City, NJ. I had to explain to the staff that, due to state regulations and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requirements, a contact lens prescription must be provided on the proper prescription form and not on a plain white piece of paper. This is basic compliance knowledge that an optometry office should already understand. To make matters worse, they emailed me and faxed another optometrist a void prescription that was missing required information. This caused unnecessary delays and confusion that could have easily been avoided with proper attention to detail. Additionally, I was told I needed to pay out of pocket for contact lenses that are 100% covered by my insurance. I have had the same insurance for over 12 years and have never had issues receiving covered contact lenses from other providers. This felt misleading and unprofessional. Overall, the lack of regulatory knowledge, administrative errors, and incorrect insurance handling made this a frustrating experience. I would not recommend this office based on the overall first time experience.

Been here for eye exams for my family for last couple of years and we were provided a good service always by both Dr Jane Chen and Dr Sarah Bilal. Staffs were always helpful and clarify all questions about insurance. Even they help to reschedule appointments (if we call them at least a day in advance). It's on left side of LensCrafters.

Doctor Chen submitted additional $170 claiming office visit and medical diagnosis to my medical insurance on top of regular eye exam fees which is covered by my vision insurance. I went there for an annual eye exam and there was nothing out of the ordinary during the process. Never had billing charged in this manner past 10 years.

Dr. Alice Chen is great, she takes her time and answers any questions you may have. The whole team is very kind and professional.

Ever Citilight Optometry was kind, courteous, helpful, very polite and I truly appreciate it. They help me get my contacts. They told me I could get glasses. You know they gave me my prescription and I truly appreciate them and to the all the young ladies that were helping me and I truly think you all so much. I most definitely will be coming back again to Dr. Chen. She was really helpful And she truly helped me to improve my vision, even though I wear Progressive lenses and I need to see distances I think her so much For both contacts and glasses I truly appreciate it.
