This Visionworks is the best place to go for eye appointments! Cynthia, the GM, is a total rockstar. My insurance wasn't popping up in their system even though I knew they took it, and she spent so much time dealing with the insurance company to get it all squared away. She really went to bat for me! Also, a huge shout-out to Asma, the clinical specialist. I've been trying to wear contacts for 30 years with zero luck, but she was able to finally get me there! She was so patient and gave me the best tips in getting the contacts in and out. On top of the amazing staff, they have an excellent frame selection with tons of great styles. If you need eye care in JC, definitely go see them!

They're friendly and nice people. Good staff. They didn't notify me when I had to pay out of pocket for my retinal exam when my insurance covered the rest of everything else. It wasn't anything huge I had to pay but still they should've told me at the beginning. On that note, I think they're good. Just have to be more alertness of what others will pay when the insurance fails on something.

Overall great experience. I had a bit of a complicated situation with my insurance, and Miguel helped me through every aspect of it, including getting on the phone with my insurance company, and making sure I understood what steps to take next. Everyone was attentive to equipment hygiene; the exam rooms were clean and modern. The technician Naya (if I'm remembering correctly), and Dr. Jones, were both super nice, thorough, and communicative. I would have liked a bigger selection of sunglasses, but I found a nice pair.

As a new customer, my first question was how fast can I get my glasses. I was told one week, but I'm on to week three with no glasses. First time I called back after about 1.5 weeks, and was told the original promise was two weeks. When I didn't hear from them after two weeks, I called again only to find out it's now another week away. I received no call or update from anyone, it was me who had to reach out. Not what one would expect when spending over $300 on glasses.

Today I had an eye exam. I came in with my broke, old pair of glasses. I had been using them for a week until I had the time to come in today (Sat. 2/7/26). TBH this appointment and visit made my day and also made one of my dreams come true. First, the girl who did my exam was very friendly and soft spoken and fixed my glasses. She did said that they won't be lasting much longer, which is fine. This Kate Spade frame lasted me a good 2-3 years. Next was the doctor visit. All went through smooth and she was not annoyed with all my questions and concerns - she addressed and advised me on all my concerns. THANKS DOC!!! BUT - what really did it for me, was the excellent service I received during the process of picking my next frame(s). I had the please of working with Cynthia Rios-Lopez. I did not know she was the manager, as she does not carry herself as such, but as another member of the team. Hi Cynthia - It's Aileny!! Anyways she really did it for me. She saw me struggling to pick a frame as I always do. She helped with that. But the best part was when she explained to me the different DISCOUNTS they have available like BOGO get 50% second frame, and even 60% off. She pointed out to me what I was looking to do get. She showed me all the prices of all the add ons. What came as a surprise to me, was that she told me and guided me (through all my hesitation) so that I may get everything I wanted (and more) while paying the LEAST AMOUNT OF MONEY! No, she did not try to sell the most expensive frames or nothing like that. She even showed options that I thought were beyond my budget, and what I had always wanted. Cynthia told me, I did not even asked, that I could get sunglasses as well!!! I do not know how she knew I wanted that, but she made it happen for me. I always thought I would be spending a good $1,000 on prescribed sunglasses (I can't help what I like ) but she actually made it super affordable and possibly for me to get everything I wanted and even the things I always thought was out of my reach. Cynthia, I am truly grateful for having you help me through this process, and I thank you very much because you made one of dreams come through. Besides the wonderful staff, of course I cannot NOT mentioned how clean the store is, it is very spacious (multiple people can browse the frames selections without being in each others way), every frame has its price on so you do not have to be asking "how much is this" etc. They also have a great and big selection of frames, which is what drew me here in the first place. They took my UnitedHealth Care Community Insurance, aka MEDICAID. Just know the MEDICAID barely covers shit, in fact it covers the eye exam and an $70 frame and that's it - no add ons at all. IN SUMMARY, Y'ALL SHOULD COME HERE - EVERYONE FROM JC, HOBOKEN, UNION CITY ETC. Even if there is a VisonWorks closer to you, (1)it will not be as big; (2) it will not have such a big and varied selection of frames and sunglasses, (3) and there won't be a Cynthia Rios-Lopez, GENERAL MANAGER to help you pick the most affordable and cost conscious frames. She made it possible for me to get everything I wanted and more. OH - DID I MENTIONED NO WAIT TIMES WITH APPOINTMENTS...?

The exam process was quick easy and comfortable. Would absolutely recommend! Nailah was wonderful and helped me pick out the perfect pair! Sad that I can only come once a year!

I had a wonderful experience at Visionworks in Jersey City. Nailah helped me select several pairs and the one I ended up getting is my favorite pair now. Unfortunately, I accidentally sat on it over Thanksgiving ( first time doing that in 50 years of wearing glasses), but Nailah was able to service me in 10 minutes with a replacement pair. I'm so glad and grateful. Nailah is the absolute Best!!!

Nyla and Cynthia made selecting my new frames a fun and pleasant experience. The doctor was patient and he answered all my questions and concerns. Excellent service! I can't wait for my new specs!
