I was at this office yesterday for an exam. What a fantastic staff there. So friendly , professional and informative. Each person I worked with Was just so welcoming. DR. Tegins was very informative and answered all my questions. Looking forward to my follow in September

I think Dr. Tegins is wonderful. She explains things clearly, has a positive attitude and energy, and gives injections without pain. The practice is so poorly run, though, that I'm not sure she's worth the time that it takes to get preliminary tests (15 minutes tops) and a 5 minute injection. Yesterday in Monroe it took just over two hours. And unfortunately yesterday the tech was rushing and managed to scratch my cornea while it was numb. When the anesthetic wore off the pain was intense. So I called the practice and spoke to a tech. I told her what I thought had happened and she insisted that my eyes were dry and I needed to use more drops. At one point she even said that it would be pointless for me to come in because they don't treat dry eyes. At no point did she consider that what I was telling her was true. So arrogant! I spent a miserable night and called again this morning to find out where I should get treatment. The receptionist said that a tech would call me back which happened almost 3 hours later! By then I was in an examining chair in my ophthalmologist's office. Diagnosis: corneal abrasion. It is unfortunate that members of the staff are so sure that the practice is perfect and would never make a mistake that they can't even hear what the patient is saying. It is all the result of the requirement to push more appointments ($$) through a system that can only handle it by being careless and sloppy. It is unfortunate because Dr. Tegins is a really good doctor. My guess is she is entirely unaware of the error that happened right under her nose! Maybe she will get to read this review!

I had the worst experience at NJRetina in Monroe. We spent over 2 hours there, with more than 1.5 hours just sitting and waiting for the doctor. During this time, we could hear the doctor and assistant chatting in the back instead of attending to patients. My son had to literally knock and ask someone to come -- only then did the doctor finally show up. When the doctor did arrive, he was extremely rude, hard to understand due to his heavy accent, and did not apologize for the long delay. Even more concerning, while examining my son's eyes (which requires close contact), he wasn't wearing a mask, and his breath smelled terrible -- completely unprofessional and unhygienic. This place is disrespectful of people's time, Never going back.

Dr.Fein is an excellent caring Dr. He keeps you well informed and answers all of your questions. I recommend him very highly!

Great as can be expected. Appears the wait time is shorter. Staff is efficient and kind. The doctor is the best

I am a physician and I am not a big fan of complaining about other practices but at the same time it would be a shame if this practice doesn't fix the attitude of their staff. I established my mom at NJRetina Monroe, we were on time for our first appointment and still had to wait over 1 hour to be seen. The physician was great (and overbooked as expected) but I am extremely unhappy with the behavior of the front desk staff. For our follow up appointment I had a busy week in the hospital taking care of patients and misunderstood the appointment time. My mom reached the office about 15 minutes late and I received a call from an obnoxiously rude front desk lady (I will avoid names) who basically hung up on me towards the end of the conversation, she was very condescending. My mother, a retired physician/anesthesiologist, said she has never seen such rude front desk staff ever. As a physician I understand that patients can be late and we try our best to accommodate them or ask them to reschedule. But I am not sure how the practice/practice manager in this case thinks this is appropriate behavior by their front desk staff.

I had a very short wait before I was seen by a doctor. The exam was quick and thorough. A very short visit overall.
