I've been going here for 3 years and I must say Maria is my girl. They all are super sweet and friendly but Maria does my custom lenses for me in my Sunglasses. She really does a great job. I never had a bad experience with either side, exam or picking out glasses. I tried contacts for the first time, the person was very patient with me showing how to put them on and gave me tips. I always leave satisfied with my purchase from there
I am former patient of the late Dr. Michael Feinstein who passed away a few years ago and have been for over 10 years. Once I heard of his passing, instead of searching elsewhere for a new eye doctor, I decided to stay with Dr. Diego Morillo and Associates who took over - BIG MISTAKE! I've visited this eye doctor in the last two years for simple eye exams with no major problems. However, last week, overnight, I developed red eye in my left eye. I was in pain and could not work. I work as a paralegal in a law office, thus, it was extremely difficult. First thing Monday morning, I contacted their office for an emergency appointment; however, only available appointment was next day, Tuesday around noon. Ok, Tuesday noon, I arrive at my appointment. I am asked for my health insurance card and soon thereafter told that I have to pay a $125 copay despite me advising the front desk lady that I should only be charged $25 for a specialist visit [it even notated it on my insurance card]. Nevertheless, I pay the $125 copay and see Dr. Morillo. I am scheduled for a follow up visit the following Tuesday and even told by the lady at the front desk - remember, you have to pay another $125 next week. Later that week, I contacted my health insurance company and confirmed that I should have ONLY been charged a copay of $25 NOT $125 - thus, I was overcharged for my copay - STRIKE ONE! The following Tuesday arrives, I am still in pain and my eye condition has not improved. I show up to my scheduled appointment 5 mins late due to Newark traffic and I am told that the Dr. Morillo left for the day. I am confused because I say, I had an appointment at 3:45pm, it is only 3:40pm ish... [mind you, they never take you on time] and your office closes at 5:00pm, how could the Dr. have left. Oh, our office closes at 5pm but you were the Doctor's last appointment of the day and you should have called if you were running late. I explained, how am I supposed to know that I was the Dr.'s last appointment of the day, especially when his office closes at 5pm. I even spoke to the lady at the front desk earlier in the day because she confirmed that they would reimburse me $100 for my overcharged copay, yet, no one called me to confirm whether I was on my way. Although they wanted to reschedule for the next day, I refused because I took time off of work to be there and I was in pain and my condition had not improved. Before I left that day, I was reimbursed for my overcharged copay. Thus, the lesson here is that Dr. Morillo does not care for the well-being of his patients but for the extra $$$ he can take from them and put in his pockets - STRIKE TWO! Finally, a couple of days later, I managed to schedule an appointment with another eye doctor who not only was able to see me instantly, but her staff charged me the CORRECT copay of $25 in one shot, no questions asked. After this eye Doctor, not ONLY was I misdiagnosed by Dr. Morillo but given the incorrect prescription script - STRIKE THREE! So, here we have a Dr. who does not care for the well-being of his patients, over charges his patients for copays and then refuses to see them when he is caught in the act and has to reimburse them and to make matters worse, misdiagnoses their condition. Dr. Feinstein, God rest his soul must be rolling in his grave knowing that this is how these people are taking care of his former patients. Myself and my family, including my parents, siblings and nieces were former patients of Dr. Feinstein, but after experiencing what I occurred in the last two weeks, we will ALL look elsewhere because there is no way me and my family are ever going back to this place!
HORRIBLE OFFICE! I WAS a patient for 10+ years.. use to be a great place to get contacts and glasses but ever since they changed owners.. its been hell! the prices went up for everything, prices for glasses and contacts are OUTRANGEOUS! ONE RIPPED CONTACT AND THEY ARE TELLING ME I HAVE TO BUY A YEAR WORTH OF CONTACTS AGAIN, I just bought a pack 3 months ago, not understanding them having no courtesy. and want to charge for fitting plus new contacts? ME AND MY KIDS WILL BE FINDING A NEW EYE DOCTOR
Both visits were unsatisfactory. They lost my first prescription glasses. I was practically called a liar when I informed them that I never received any glasses at all. Then they attempted to give me someone else's glasses. No apology . The second time a dark skinned Hispanic girl who's young enough to be my GRANDCHILD constantly made a mockery of my age . Clearly she envied my outfit which was to die for. Her and the other girls called me names in Spanish to one another. I politely told her she looked African American jst like me but spoke Spanish jst like me. My objection to being verbally disrespected fell on death ears. Even the threat of writing this negative review and or writing to the owner and investors didn't sway DARLENE and other receptionist at the window to refrain from trying to intimidate , bully and berate an older grandmother of 7 and great grandmother of 2. Try as I mite to walk away head held high in my heart I felt so low . I'm in no condition to defend myself physically. So when she indirectly told me to leave OR ELSE i instinctively knew what she was implying, I'm Currently seeking another Dr. oh yeah my ins stated I have no office visit CO PAY, but she also took my money. Shame on them. She conveniently forgot to give me a receipt
Made an appointment and even called prior to see if my insurance covered everything and I was told that they did . I show up early to my appointment and I'm told to fill out the new patient packet and after I finish , the front desk woman tells me that eye exams are not included after getting off the phone with my insurance company . $125 out of pocket for an eye exam . Being told this prior would've been very nice . Not to mention how unprofessional the other staff was on their phone being loud and talking about concerts and showing each other videos ..
Dr. Feinstein ' s staff was a lot more prompt and professional . What a shame . Never returning .
A Bunch Of Crooks, They told me I Had to Pay out of pocket because my insurance didn't pay for it all but I called my insurance and they said Morillo never Went through the insurance because if they had then my Insurance would have covered the whole visit, I don't recommend anyone go here and if you do don't let them Lie to you like they did me, Not to mention they are not trying to give me my money back even after I refused to go forward with the treatment smh Scammers!!
