My experience at the Cohen Eye Institute was fantastic. Check in was very easy and I didn't wait long at all to be called in the back. The technicians were all friendly, thorough, and very knowledgeable. Dr Chen was very kind and put me at ease - a true professional. Highly recommend this office. The staff is above and beyond!

I could not be happier with Dr. Cohen and his staff. I flew from California to New Jersey to have cataract surgery on both eyes. I know my friends thought I was crazy. I had many consultations after a failed laser surgery for vision correction. After consulting with Dr. Cohen, there was no question regarding his skill, genuine care for his patients and trustworthiness. My cataract premium laser lens replacement was painless and was completed quickly in a very clean and pleasant atmosphere. The procedure was explained in detail prior to the procedure. I went from unable to drive to almost perfect vision, so I claim Dr. Cohen as my SUPERHERO! I regained my freedom! I am so grateful I found Dr Cohen. Dr. Cohen and his staff care diligently for his patients and are efficient, extremely organized, knowledgeable and spot on. I am having my cataracts corrected with laser surgery and I like the results. I can read better and see items at a distance that I wasn't able to see. Dr Cohen did the surgery and he thoroughly explained the procedure & set my mind at ease. His staff is kind and caring throughout the procedure at the Campus Eye Group and at his office in Old Bridge at Cohen Eye Institute. Shoshana the Surgical coordinator walked me thru the process & the options for financing with kindness & professionalism. Dr Chen is my regular eye doctor & she did the followup. Dr. Cohen is an absolute master in his field. He treats his patients with the utmost care and explains everything fully and calmly. The instructions of what you as the patient need to do before and after cataract surgery is so understandable and through. His staff is the absolute best, professional, well trained, and full of compassion for their patients. They even called the day after to see how you are doing. I would highly recommend Dr cohen. I had such a bad experience here. I went in for an ICL consult 2 months ago and was told I had to see one specific doctor who didn't have availability for almost two months. I asked if I could be accommodated earlier since I needed to use my once-a-year insurance benefit, but they wouldn't work with me at all. My appointment was finally today. I texted ahead that I was running late because of unexpected traffic. ( they chose when to respond to the text and not to). I still drove 20 miles to get there, only to be told I couldn't be seen because I was 21 minutes late and their policy is 15 minutes. I understand policies, but after waiting months and letting them know ahead of time, some flexibility would've gone a long way. What really bothered me was the front desk staff - the attitude was rude and dismissive. I work in healthcare myself and would never allow patients to be spoken to that way. Definitely won't be going back.

I have been struggling with a difficult dry eye issue for a long time, and she is the first doctor to finally resolve it for me. She is, hands down, the best eye doctor I have ever been to. What I appreciate most about Dr. Chen is that she never rushes you. She takes her time to genuinely listen to all of your concerns and is so thorough in her explanations.
