Dr. Sudol is a very thorough doctor. He takes his time and listens to any concerns and is always willing to make sure I am happy with my contact lens fit and prescription. He is also very kind with calm disposition. His staff was great during my last visit. The medical assistant who did my pre-exam was also very thorough and patient with me during the air puff test, which always gives me some anxiety. The medical receptionist was extremely helpful when it came to explaining & paying for services and using my benefits.
My experience was very good though the time lag was not. Entering Pearl at 130 for a 2pm appt started ok with time to look at frames seemed fine. With few staff, 2 and a half hours later I was still waiting to complete my frame and lens order. The manager was extremely helpful and apologetic for the wait. It is understandable that the number of walk ins is unpredictable though it would be helpful to have someone extra for such instances.
Dr Sudol is great! I've been going here for a decade for my annual eye exam and contacts order. Even after relocating to Manhattan, I still make the trip because he's great, everyone working there is great, and it's just an overall easy visit and prescription process.
Dr. Kevin Sudol has always been a phenomenal provider. He has been my eye health provider for at least 15 years. I recently needed surgical procedures on my eyes, based on his concern and the concern of the specialist to whom he sent me. I was very nervous about the procedures and called to speak with him prior to those dates. He returned my call and put me at ease about what was going to happen. When I was there the other day for follow-up after the surgical procedures, he was his informative yet reassuring self. I would recommend Dr. Sudol highly to anybody who wishes to follow their eye health.
Unfortunately, my experience was chaotic from start to finish. Even before my appointment, things were disorganized. I had a change in insurance and called multiple times several days in advance to have it updated and verified, but I was unable to reach anyone.
When I arrived for my appointment, the situation only became more frustrating. Internal issues that should have been handled discreetly were openly discussed in front of customers. If the office experienced an unexpected emergency, it should have been managed by leadership in a way that prevented patients from feeling the impact--or even being aware of it. Instead, I and other patrons heard everything. We were told that someone had fallen down the stairs, leaving only one person to check in patients. Phones rang unanswered, with staff yelling across the store comments like, "You don't have to pick it up--if it's important, they'll call back." I found this especially concerning since I had personally called at least four times three days prior trying to resolve my insurance issue.
As snow began that morning, more unprofessional commentary was shared openly, including discussions about wanting to close early so staff could go home, clearing driveways, and being in a rush. None of this was appropriate to discuss in front of patients and made it very clear I was being hurried through my appointment.
I was asked to shop around while others were taken care of, only to be called back nearly two hours later and told there was an issue with my insurance and that I would be better off paying out of pocket--followed by being told they do not accept out-of-state insurance. At that point, after waiting so long, I paid and left simply out of frustration. I had called days in advance specifically to avoid this situation, yet no apparent due diligence was done, resulting in wasted time and money.
I genuinely like Dr. Sokol; however, this will likely be my last year with Pearle Vision. I plan to go elsewhere--to a practice that is properly staffed and whose employees demonstrate professionalism and care in their work. I understand that unexpected things happen, but as someone who leads a large customer service department, everything I witnessed is behavior I would never tolerate. Internal challenges should be addressed before opening the doors so customers can have a seamless, respectful experience.
My husband and I went for our annual eye exam and then purchasing new glasses on 11/6/25. From start to finish everyone was very pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They have a large selection of eye glass frames making selection easy to get what we want. We have gone here many years now for our eye care and are always extremely satisfied with our visits. Thank you Pearle Vision for another wonderful experience.
I've been with Dr. Christopher Brown I would say approximately 20 years now. I travel almost an hour to my appointments because I would never go to any one else. Everyone in the office is alway so kind and courteous. Thank you Dr Brown and team. Your attention and kindness is very much appreciated .
