I would recommend Galvin Eyes to anyone looking for a eye doctor. I needed an appointment desperately and was able to be seen the same week I called! The office staff was amazing in scheduling and helping me pick out a pair of glasses that fit my style. The doctor was honest and answered all of my questions. He was patient with me and explained things so that I could understand them. Very happy with taking a chance on this office and I am looking forward to continuing my care with them!
The office is dirty and disorganized. The doctor told both my daughter and I the exact same things in 2 separate exams- very shady. He told my 29 year old daughter that she'd need a follow up for possible glaucoma...... Obviously, she won't return there but will get a second opinion. I was quoted a price for my contacts and he had one of his staff members call back to say, price went up to $550, do you still want them??? No thank you; I also had to go elsewhere. Money grubbing is what I got a sense of.
FOLLOW UP: My daughter DID NOT have glaucoma. WOW, just wow!
Very nice office staff. Dr. Galvin was thorough. Went in for my first appointment in years, and he told me I had an astigmatism and I needed glasses (which is why I was there).
He put me in progressives for my very first pair of glasses without really explaining them, other than I can see close, midrange, and far. Never needed glasses before and never had them, so I don't know what to expect... especially from progressives.
When ordering my glasses, they said I have 30 days to bring them back if there are any issues. The price of the exam ($165), and the glasses, which came with the frames ($300), progressive lenses ($330), and the coating ($120).
After two days, I called back and said that I wanted the progressives out because they were making me feel motion sick. They told me it would take a while to get used to them. A few weeks later, I would still get motion sick and I had no depth perception, I asked them to get regular lenses, since it was in the first 30 days.
They ordered the lenses and they came in about a week and half later. Got them put in my frames and it is soooo much better. I asked the front desk if they would refund the progressives ($330) that I paid for, and they said "no".
All in all, the eye appointment was decent, but the price of the glasses and the fact that they wouldn't refund at least some of the returned lenses probably has me not going back and finding another place.
I love this practice!! From the Doctor to the wonderful ladies in the office!
Dale & Chanda really make me smile! There is such a joyful atmosphere here! Love the evening hours! Dr. Galvin fit me in last minute (new patient) and really took her time with me! AND gave me crazy eye drop samples!!
My eyes have found a forever doc!!!!
Every time I visit Galvin Eyes (since about 1990), it is a wonderful experience! First of all, Dale is a wonderful, friendly receptionist who is always smiling and ready for any smart remarks made. Dr. Peter Galvin is thorough and very patient in explaining any change in the plan of action. Finally, it is a pure pleasure to interact with Gwen as she helps me select my glasses and then makes sure they fit properly when they are delivered. This is an office that I would visit anytime, any day to get professional service in a friendly, warm atmosphere, even @5am on a Sunday!
Dr Karen Galvin has always been the most patient and nicest ever since i met her years ago. I wish all my Doctors were as nice as her. She's the best !! Plus I have never seen a Drs office that is constantly in touch with their patients. I get notified via, text, email, and someone also calls me.
Galvin Eyes excels in many areas -- expertise, experience, service and a willingness to help. Both Dr. Galvins are excellent at what they do and just such nice people while the office staff is amazing. Gail, Ashley and everyone else is helpful, good at what they do and always there to help, instead of upsell like some places.
Galvin Eyes is the best.
The best care from Doctor Galvin(s) through the entire staff. They are kind, patient and caring people. Go...don't miss your opportunity for the best.
