My Experience with Wyckoff Ophthalmology (Wyckoff, NJ) I don't normally post complaints--I'm a big supporter of local businesses--but I feel like I'd be doing a disservice to the community if I didn't share what happened to me at Wyckoff Ophthalmology (350 Wyckoff Ave). I had an appointment with Dr. Sinatra, (the owner) who told me their office was a "tier one" insurance coverage. Later, I found out they were actually a "tier two insurance plan." That might sound small, but it felt misleading--especially once the rest of the visit unfolded. Dr. Sinatra diagnosed me with a staph infection in my eye and prescribed a strong antibiotic (doxycycline) that I was supposed to take for a full month. It didn't sit right with me, so I went to Eyes On Ramsey for a second opinion. The doctor there was amazing--super professional and thorough--and told me I didn't need antibiotics at all, just a simple steroid drop to be administered for a week. Total relief! But here's the real kicker: A YEAR later, they billed an additional $1,000 for simply removing an eye lash or makeup brush bristle off my upper eye lid! Something I could've done myself by simply wiping my eye . I was shocked! It honestly felt like they were trying to take advantage of me (and how strange to bill me a year later?) Long story short: Misrepresented their facility Prescribed unnecessary and strong medication Charged an outrageous fee for wiping a piece of debris off my eye lid and called it a "medical procedure" Please, do your research and don't be afraid to get a second opinion. We all deserve honest, competent care--without the surprise bills or scare tactics.

Amazing doctor and office staff which is refreshing to find both. I had an emergency painful stye infection in my eye. I was a new patient and Maria squeezed me in same day. I was truly surprised and grateful. Dr Sinatra is very skilled and has lovely personality. Change in insurance brought me to my new long term provider. Highly recommend.

Dr. Sinatra is excellent--she explains all procedures thoroughly, and is a caring physician. I have never felt rushed and all of my concerns were addressed. I have been to various eye doctors over the last 10 years, I am so thankful to have been referred to Dr. Sinatra 3 years ago. She is by far the best in the area and her entire office staff is terrific. My prescriptions have always been spot on. I decided recently to do the cataract surgery, unbelievable! I can't believe I can see so well without glasses. Dr. Sinatra is simply the best. Thank you so much for your amazing service!

Excellent Doctor running an excellent practice. Staff runs the place like clockwork. Dr. Sinatra is the consummate professional. She took care of my cataract surgery and made it easy and fearless. No pain. No complications. Dr. Andrea Antonelli has attended me through eye infections and allergies, most recently taking out a cat hair stubbornly stuck in my eye. Took the time to explain eye health yet got me in and out of the office in record time. I have recommended this practice to dozens of friends. I could not be more pleased.

Dr. Melanie Sinatra saved my eyes and health all around. Thorough examinations and knowledgeable and skillful, tactical course of treatment, Dr. Sinatra kept the shingles I had contracted from spreading to my eyes and subsequently becoming glaucoma. I have no quams whatsoever of putting the care and well being of my eyes in Dr. Melanie Sinatra's hands for any reason.

We have been patients of Dr. Sinatra - and more recently Dr. Antonelli as well - for over a decade. She was recommended to us by a dear friend and we have continued to further recommend her office to dear friends of ours... because when you have found the caviar and champagne you pass it around. Not one of our friends has ever been disappointed and, in fact, all have continued to see her. Both Dr. Sinatra and Dr. Antonelli are kind, compassionate and so much more than merely competent. We have been treated as valued patients consistently and professionally. Their entire staff is truly delightful to deal with... .... But here's what has impressed me the most in all the wonderful they've been: ... I have a brother who is neurologically impaired and came to live with us two years ago... and, sadly, not all medical professionals our Bill has dealt with have been kind, nor patient... But our Bill's experience with this office - these doctors - has been everything you would want a challenged love one to experience: answering every question, reassuring, compassionate and so very patient. My brother, Bill, calls Dr.Sinatra "a treasure" ... and, indeed, she has been that for our entire family... Whether it be a regular check-up or cataract surgery, everything is handled in the most professional - and relentlessly kind - manner. ... and we couldn't be more grateful.

I was recommended to Dr. Sinatra by a dear friend a few years ago and I could not be happier with her and the entire staff. Every time I go there I leave feeling 100% confident in the care I have been given. The staff is always friendly and works very hard- always with a smile. If you are in need of quality eye care this is the place to be!!
