Eye Care for Animals - Albuquerque

We are so thankful for Dr. Peterson and the entire team at Eye Care for Animals. We were referred in an emergency situation, as Ozzy our English Bulldog's, eye globe was about to rupture. The team was able to get us in almost immediately. Dr. Peterson and her team explained the medical situation to us and the options that were available to help her. Since the required surgery was considered emergency the team was even willing to rearrange the schedule and stay late to ensure that Ozzy received the care needed to save her eye and her vision. Dr. Peterson went above and beyond and was able to perform an even better procedure then she thought she would be able to, which means that Ozzy has less vision impairment then anticipated. Our follow-up experience and care has also been wonderful. The team has been available to answer any questions and provided excellent explanations of the medicines and how to properly administer them. Dr. Peterson was also able to identify and fix the issue that was causing the eye ulcers that Ozzy was experiencing, helping to ensure we do not have further trauma to her eyes. In addition to that, she has also helped us manage Ozzy's seasonal allergies, which have always affected her eyes. As a family we are extremely grateful for the team at Eye Care for Animals- Albuquerque.

Our dog Banjo was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at just 4 years old. Within a year, he sadly lost his sight due to cataracts. He went from being an active, outgoing dog to fearful and withdrawn, and it broke our hearts to see him that way. Dr. Auten at Eye Care for Animals performed cataract removal surgery, and I kid you not--when we picked him up, it was like we had our old Banjo back. He was more like himself than he had been since his diagnosis. It's now been over 6 months, and we could not be happier with the results. The entire staff has been nothing short of phenomenal. They know Banjo by name, treat him with such kindness, and make us feel cared for every step of the way. We are beyond grateful, and I would recommend Eye Care for Animals to anyone without hesitation.

Dr. Candace Auten is an incredible veterinary ophthalmologist. Her professional manner, steady hands, and huge heart resulted in q great outcome for our beloved, Charlie Bear. She removed Charlie's cataract and she and her staff cared for Charlie throughout the healing process. Charlie is always welcomed and treated with great care and kindness. Charlie says "She always feels like a (VIP) very important patient.

The doctors, techs, and even the receptionist at thia place are amazing! They took such good care of our pup and continue taking good care of him in his follow ups. Our dog doesn't like many people, but he loves his doctors and techs here. They genuinely care and do whats best for the animals so we love them for that. If you have an emergency or even a mild concern with your fur babies eyes, definitely make an appointment and get in here, you wont be dissapointed, and your fur baby will be happy too!

Everyone was very friendly and seemed happy to work there. Dr. Peterson took her time and explained what was going on with my kitty and answered my questions with care. She was very knowledgeable and treated me like a friend. Wish we had gone there a lot sooner!

We love this Eye Doctor and the staff. They are also great. Bam Bam really is pretty comfortable there and today his eyes are really looking good just from one day of drops going to get better thank you doctor. Dr. Auten has given my dog Star the most amazing care. She understands how important our pets are to us and treats them like family. I'm so grateful my regular vet recommended Dr. Auten to us for Star's eye surgery.

My dog went in for surgery to get 2 masses removed from his eyelid. Everyone was extremely kind, very knowledgeable, and helpful during the whole process. Would highly recommend this facility.
