The doctor came into the room and performed the tests very very quickly. So quickly that I questioned if the tests were done well. I asked multiple questions and he just talked over me and didn't acknowledge or answer anything I asked. These incidents happened both times I went in. His rushing made me feel very anxious and rushed when all I was trying to do was understand my eye health and sight. Any appointment that is about your health is something that shouldn't be rushed through.

We thought we would try this place because they accepted our insurance and our regular eye doctor was booked out till February 2025. We arrived at 10:15am for a 10:30 and 10:40 appointment. We were called back at 11:00am. My 15 year old daughter was seen first. I sat outside the open door-way as she was tested on the machines, then they took her to a room BY HERSELF. I stood up and said, wait a minute I am her mother I need to be in that room also. The tech tells me that I am next on the machines and If I am admitted into the exam room I will need to return to the "back of the line" (there were about 6 people waiting to be seen and I had already been waiting long past my 10:40am appointment. The tech told me again that I was next on the machines. I said OK, BUT I NEED TO BE IN THE ROOM WHEN THE DOCTOR EXAMINES MY MINOR CHILD. - They start my dilation process and next thing I know my daughter is texting that she is finished, she says it was very rushed (well under 5 minutes) and the doctor made her feel weird. She also informs me that she was diagnosed with astigmatism and far-sightedness and the the doctor told her she would need glasses for the rest of her life. My child has had a yearly eye exam since she was about 5 or 6 years old, and this is the first we hear of any vision problems or astigmatism. She has always tested having perfect eyesight and has no vision complaints. I looked the tech in the eye and say - "I specifically told you that I needed to be in the room when my minor child was examined, by law you can not examine her without her parent or guardian present". She explains to me that I wasn't allowed in the room therefor she did not inform me. After hearing that, I stood up and said we are finished here. My child and I left and I did not complete my eye exam. The front desk lady promised I would not be billed nor my insurance; that is yet to be seen. I have filed a grievance with our insurance as well as the NM medical board. I would highly recommend NOT using this optometrist office, particularly if the appointment is for a minor child. I can only imagine how many other young girls have been made to feel weird by that male doctor. I have scheduled my child for a second opinion at a more reputable optometrist's office although they don't accept my insurance. A misdiagnosis to a child's eyes could affect them for a lifetime. This is a serious and strong warning to all of you parents out there!

I came in for an eye exam as a single mom with my baby, and while I understand that medical spaces sometimes require accommodations, the way I was treated felt dismissive and unwelcoming. My baby wasn't crying excessively, but the front desk staff mentioned that it might be "too much" for the doctor--because, apparently, he has expressed discomfort in the past when babies cry. That comment set a tone that made me feel like a problem before the appointment even began. What really solidified my decision not to return was overhearing a conversation between the doctor and another provider. The woman commented, "Well, she can't just leave the baby in the car, of course," and he laughed. That moment made it clear that my situation wasn't being met with compassion, but with sarcasm. As a parent doing my best without childcare options, that hurt. Although they called me afterward to reschedule and offered an apology, the experience had already left me feeling disrespected. When I canceled completely, their reaction made it clear they had expected it--which only confirmed how little support I truly received. I hope this office reflects on how they treat patients who are parents--especially single mothers. We deserve to receive healthcare without shame, sarcasm, or judgment. A little empathy would've gone a long way.

Not sure what's happened with a lot of these people and their bad experiences, but mine was overall good. This was my first time here, the scheduling was easy, they accept my insurance, and they were able to get me in soon. My appointment ran on time, but I do agree that staff is very rushed. They didn't seem to be that busy, but I've worked in healthcare and know there's more than what we all see. The assistant that did my exam was nice, and she explained the eye dilation, cost, exam steps, and made sure I knew a contact fitting would cost $160, to which I declined and she was fine with. She did mention it would cost more without insurance if I decided to come back for it. As for the doctor: He was nice, but also rushed. Not necessarily in an uncaring way though. He didn't diagnose me with glaucoma like everyone says, or any eye issues that I don't already have. I was also told he wanted to see me back the next week for another short exam with no dilation to ensure he gives me an accurate prescription. I was worried my insurance may not be active anymore by then, but the front desk was very helpful in finding information on it and rescheduling me for tomorrow morning to ensure I'm covered. Thank you all!

I used this provider because eye associates was booked out an entire year. I am not very happy with my experience. I had an initial appointment for an eye exam, was written a prescription and told that I had to make a follow up appointment. The REQUIRED follow up appointment was about three months later at that follow up appointment. The doctor then said my prescription changed and my vision got worse. In the meantime I had already purchased two pairs of glasses with the given prescription at the first appointment. I was wondering why I had to take my glasses off to even see. I believe this was done intentionally to make more money because I was never told to wait for the follow up appointment to buy glasses in the first place so I'm SOL about $400 for glasses because he gave me bunk prescription. I don't believe this provider is honest or has integrity so beware!

Yikes Wish I read the reviews before I went. The first thing I noticed was how odd it was to be in the eye exam room with another person in there. I don't even think they even sanitized the machines. that was weird. The second red flag that came to my mind was when I met the doctor in the room he was with me for barely even five minutes, asked me to read the screen and told me right away that I may have glaucoma did not give me my eye exam paper and scheduled me for a follow up visit next week. I didn't even get glasses. I think the doctor is committing insurance fraud. This place seems very shady. Be aware of everyone. I will definitely be going somewhere else for all of my eyecare needs.

I had seen this Dr before and needed to update my prescription and also my Son needed an appointment. Didn't have issues before and I had remembered everything went well the first visit So, I made both appointments for same day and well needed less to say we will NOT be going back. He saw my "MINOR" son without me Dr. did not want my 3 year old inside room with me. I got zero information about my Sons vision. The ladies at the front just told me he needs glasses forever. When I asked Dr about my Son, Dr just told me my son needs glasses. I asked for more info and he said his paperwork was at the front desk. I sat in the room while Dr just wrote things down in silence. Most uncomfortable visit ever. Ladies in front are super nice.WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK AND DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS Dr.!

went to my first appt here last week, doc spends maybe 5 minutes with me and tells me he'll need me to come back in a week to get my prescription and then that i'll need another follow up appt in a month because he believes i may have glaucoma. and boy howdy right then i should have read the reviews. if i could give this place zero stars i would. i scheduled my follow up appt for 240p. appt was called and confirmed. day of appt i show up 6 minutes late (due to a wreck on Holly) for the front desk to tell me they moved my appt to 230 (i have an email that says 240 appt time) and they would have to reschedule me since the doctor already left for the day. They say he had an emergency and blocked his schedule off from 240 on that morning so I asked why they didn't call me this morning and reschedule my appointment and they said because they can't control when he has an emergency obviously but if you knew that his schedule had been blocked off, don't you think you should have called and rescheduled earlier in the day then I live 45 minutes away and drove all the way up here for nothing. gas isnt cheap. Then i read the reviews and it turns out I'm not the only one so he has spent maybe five minutes in the room with and diagnosed with glaucoma. My best guess is that he's committing insurance fraud.
