Kevin Sitko

Dr Sitko has been helping me since a mild stroke affected my vision a few years ago. He's a good listener and has been helpful in prescribing prism lenses to correct my strabismus. I'm lucky to have his help!

Very rushed appointment. I was referred to Dr. Sitko by an ophthalmologist who found both my eyes had ptosis and nystagmus. I was also having trouble moving my eyes. Dr. Sitko, while courteous, only spent five minutes with me. He did a few tests to see if my eyes could move normally. After he would pronounce each test a success, I would say, "I wasn't even close to the spot you were telling me to focus on," and he would ignore me completely. He also ignored the ptosis and nystagmus that the other doctor has observed and I did not have an opportunity to ask about them. During the appointment he stated that the mitochondrial disease I am currently being tested for could be the culprit. In his notes he said that I myself was the one who claimed mitochondrial disease was to blame. I'm autistic and have trouble communicating, which I have been very up front about. Unfortunately Dr Sitko decided I didn't deserve more than five minutes of his time and I still have this problem. Extremely disappointing experience. The good doctors don't work in New Mexico.

Dr Sitko is excellent with strong experience and expertise. He is professional, always answers questions, has a quiet optimism, and is encouraging which makes his patients feel truly cared for which is important with serious vision issues.
