My visit was good. I walked in 5 minutes before my appointment time. I still had to wait about 10 minutes before seen. The front desk staff were friendly. The woman who checked my eyes was polite & friendly and Dr. Roybal answered all my questions, gave me his recommendations & quickly left. I'm pleased with my visit today. I thank everyone at Retina Consultants of NM for their professionalism & friendly help.

Doctor Roybal is excellent. He did my surgery a few years ago and I have been 100% satisfied. He has a great personality and is probably one of the best surgeons in town. I had the worst case of "floaters" which were completely eliminated. Highly recommend him. His staff is excellent also.

I erall I had a positive experience. Kimberly, the tech that checked me in and did a few preliminary tests was very nice. Dr Roybal though very brusque, did answer some questions I had about my RP condition and cataract surgery. I so wish that doctors working with low vision clients would check in to see if patients are utilizing community resources. In other words, there is an emotional component when you have a blinding illness. I realize that super specialists like retina specialists hardly have the time to deal with this emotional component, but they could just ask how you are doing adjusting to your vision loss and whether you need any information or referrals to community resources. This is just my personal opinion. But overall I was satisfied with my visit to Dr Roybal. It went as I expected it to.

Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Roybal is an excellent surgeon. My own experiences were very good with both surgery and followups. The wait times in this office can be somewhat long. I feel Dr. Roybal is fairly good at communicating with patients but is also a bit quiet and reserved, so I would encourage him to take a bit more time listening and giving patients time to share.

The visit for a check of my retina went well. The staff was friendly and efficient. The doctor was very nice and communicated well with me. She did a great job explaining the status of the hole in my retina and did not pressure me to get surgery since the retina has been stable for years. The wait in the office was a bit on the long side but not terrible considering the current state of over worked healthcare offices. I would definitely recommend the practice if you have retina issues.

I recently received a reminder that I haven't been in to see Dr. Roybal in a while. There is good reason I haven't been in to see him.. I spent over a year under the care of some really good doctors in Phoenix getting my eyesight back after the retina surgery Dr. Roybal performed. After reviewing my records, all of the other doctors were appalled that he had performed the surgery at all, and that he didn't warn me about the near 100% occurrence of cataracts after the surgery. I did ask about the cataract correlation and was told by his staff that it is very rare. Dr. Roybal knew about the cataract correlation because I later found a paper he wrote in college on the subject. After an emergency visit to Dr. Roybal after the surgery (about 15 minutes), he actually told me "I've already spent more time with you than any of my other patients". I couldn't believe he said that. So, please take me off of your mailing list. I can assure you I won't be back.
