UNMH Eye Clinic

I just brought my mom in for her eye surgery. The staff was incredibly friendly the building is immaculately clean the bathrooms are immaculately clean. My mom's favorite thing was that the doctor explained everything that she was doing while she was doing it. Her surgery was perfect! Thank you everyone for taking such good care of my mom

The eye care professionals in the clinic are quite knowledgeable and professional. My dealings with the front desk staff have left me extremely frustrated and wondering how healthcare workers can be so rude. They have also left me wishing I could pick another clinic to receive my care from as the rules seem to change depending on who is on the other end of the phone.

Take your time elsewhere. I have been waiting over a month to have an issue treated. The first resident I was put with didn't follow the correct visit order so I was not treated. The second visit I was waiting 30+ minutes from my appointment time only to be told they were running an additional hour late. Of course that was not communicated to me until I walked up to the receptionist and asked what the delay was. The third visit I waited again 30+ minutes from my appointment time and told there was no timeframe of when I would be seen. Zero consideration, zero time management. What is the point of the centralized check in if they aren't going to communicate to the clinic you are there? This clinic is a joke and managed poorly.

Great physician, but their billing department sucks. Tried to double bill my insurance for an eye exam and when they wouldn't pay the second claim, they tried to bill me for it. When I called to discuss the matter, I got a rude attendant who insisted I was on the hook for the duplicate claim. Never going back to UNM healthcare again, for anything!!!

Good doctors - thorough, engaged, compassionate. Absolutely abysmal - dysfunctional scheduling system. This is a long-time problem they refuse to fix. Can't schedule a follow-up when the doctor specifies. They tell you to call back next month... and then next month... and then... You get the idea.

We were traveling through and I needed to be seen . They were so nice and friendly . Got me in within an hour . All the clinic staff was super helpful. Thank you

Dr. Thompson is awesome. She is also very compassionate. She listened to my questions and explained everything to me. It was great to feel like a human being- not just a patient being shuffled from to be station to the next.

Services from providers is great. However, appointments and times don't matter. First appointment at 815, checked in at 8, but doctor doesn't arrive until 9. Rather than saying that, "doctor is running behind with other patients" is the party line. Frustrating.
