Visionworks Mesilla Valley Mall

This was my first time here and I was truly impressed. I had heard nothing but good things, so I wanted to experience it for myselfand it definitely lived up to the reviews. The staff was extremely helpful and patient. There was an employee in training, a young lady, and I just want to say she did an amazing job. Everyone made the process smooth and comfortable. The doctor was such a sweetheart. She took the time to answer all of my questions, was very patient, honest, and made me feel completely at ease. I will definitely be coming back, and this will be my permanent place for eye care. Highly recommend!

In new situations my husband is sometimes wary and can get a little cantankerous. Any anxiety that I had walking in was quickly set aside when we were fortunate to be helped by Esther. She was calm, friendly and knowledgeable and helped us get exactly what we needed for the best price. This is the third optician that we've visited since moving to Las Cruces. It was hands down the best experience we've had. There is a large selection of frames at affordable prices. Staff is very courteous and professional. When we left, my husband commented on how great it was. Now that's saying something! I highly recommend checking out Visionworks at Mesilla Valley Mall. It will be our go-to for eye care and glasses from now on.

Glenn was so helpful and patient in helping me look for the right frames for my glasses. He carefully explained how my new progressives would function, and even showed me a demonstration video of that view, that was very helpful! I let him know what features I wanted to include in my glasses and he helped me understand which things were already part of the glasses. Glenn even helped me replace the nose pads of my current glasses, I asked him for that, so they could be more comfortable until my new glasses came out. Vision Works has a great employee in Glenn! This was the best eye glasses buying experience I have had in my life up to now and I have needed glasses almost all my life.

The assistant was so friendly. She gave us all available options to help me order what I wanted and needed. Quick and pleasant. I've worn glasses my whole life and they are SO expensive. Really appreciated the discount on second pair!

Let me preface this review with how polite and helpful Esther, one of the associates there was. I recently moved to the area and needed an eye exam. My original choice didn't have an appointment until mid-May, but suggested I try VisionWorks. I was able to get an appointment for that week. So far, so good. When I arrived, I was told that the doctor was going to do the exam remotely. A gentleman was standing next to me getting ready for his appointment and he indicated he'd been told that it was going to be a remote exam. I didn't have a huge problem with it being remote, but it would have been nice to have been told beforehand. I sat down and waited. I waited some more. I had an 11:40 a.m. appointment, but wasn't seen until 12:15 p.m. Then I went through a battery of tests that I later found out are only done when an exam is remote. The person giving the tests was not an optician. I don't know who or what he was, but suffice it to say, I was not impressed. After all the tests were done, I went back to the waiting area and waited again. Another 20 minutes went by and I was ushered into the "exam" room by another associate. I sat in there while the television screen played Visionworks commercials - on a loop for another 10 minutes while I waited for the 'doctor.' When the doctor finally came on the screen, the audio was terrible. They rebooted the system and it improved somewhat. The doctor was fine and everything moved along smoothly after that. Bottom line, I was there for 2 hours for a simple eye exam. I brought my old contact lens boxes with me so they knew what I'd had before and I told them I was very happy with that brand. Unfortunately, the Rx changed and they did not have the brand in stock to provide a trial pair. I went back 2 or 3 days later when the trial pair came in. They would not give my written prescription until they (and I) were sure the Rx was a good match. It was fine and a few days later, I called and asked them to get me my final written Rx. I was told it would be 24-48 hours before that could happen. I called 3 days later and was told that the doctor wasn't in, but my "request" was in waiting for the signature. I called again the day after, still nothing. I asked them to fax the Rx to me and the response was "I will put a note in your file but the manager has to do that." Needless to say this morning I got a voicemessage saying my Rx was ready to be picked up. That was more than a week after I requested my final Rx. I wish I'd read some of the reviews about the doctors not "being in" to sign the prescriptions before making my appointment. I probably would have waited and gone to the place I'd called first.

I had an appointment scheduled for today. I received a text a few hours before my appointment telling me that they were canceling my appointment. No call, just a text saying they were canceling the appointment. It is over an hour drive for me to attend this appointment. I called and the receptionist didn't care that my glasses were broken and I needed this appointment. This appointment was scheduled for a few weeks. At least have the consideration to call and reschedule instead of a text! Have nicer people answering the phone as well! Also the earliest appointment available was over two weeks out!!!

Outstanding service and professionalism from start to finish. The team was knowledgeable, responsive, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. You can tell they truly care about their customers and the quality of their work. Highly recommend!

Doctor was excellent!!!! She quickly verified that my prescription had not changed. My wife really liked the Optometrist, also. Online directions when booking the appointment did not tell us we had to check in on arrival. Store staff were all busy and there was no signage directing us to talk with an optician or clerk to check in for our eye exams. We stood around about 15-20 minutes until right at the appointment time waiting to talk to just anyone and then finally got checked in after interrupting a clerk working with another customer. I think that put us behind other people that were scheduled for after our appointment. We were seen about 45 minutes behind schedule. That part could definitely have been better. Please tell people when they schedule online and you send the confirmation text that they need to check in on the optician side!
