Dr. Lawrence Perlmutter, MD

My husband and myself have been seeing Dr. Perlmutter for over 30 years. Would not see anyone else. He is a great doctor and surgeon.

I didn't find the wait all that long. I wanted to get a 2nd opinion for the pain in my eye. Dr. Lawrence Perlmutter was very knowledgable and immediately found the pain and issue effecting my eyes which is very serious. I would rather wait and see an experienced doctor than at one of these assembly line offices. So my rating is well earned.

I have had two appointments there. Both times I have seen people leave because of the unreasonable waiting time. Today I was scheduled for laser surgery fo glaucoma at 1:40 . The technicians are extremely professional, however I had to have a second dose of numbing drops because of the wait time for the Dr to arrive. I had my procedure and was sent home at 3:40 (the procedure took a few minutes)without any instructions regarding restrictions if any. I had to Google what I should expect after the procedure. I would not recommend that anyone go there. I will be cancelling my follow up appointment and finding a new Dr.

First time visiting Dr. Perlmutter and the wait was around an hour but once you got in the doctor was straight forward and to the point. Chloe was very nice at the front desk. Would recommend.

Dr. Perlmutter was friendly, professional and efficient. My first visit went well. Suggested a new eye drop for my eyes and suggested I call in 2 weeks if there is no change. Couldn't ask for more.

Dr Pearlmutter is old school but very proficient and professional in the area of eye care. He performed a difficult operation of removing a large cataract from my right eye and that was over a year ago. He did a wonderful job and is very thorough in examining his patients. My sight is better than ever as I no longer require glasses for reading. One caveat though his appointments take longer than one might expect so allow for extra time when you see him in his office

I couldn't have had a more positive experience with Dr. Perlmutter. While my optometrist was away, I woke up with significant pain and blurred vision in my right eye, unlike anything I'd ever experienced. I called my optometrist's office, and they reached him on vacation. He called me and suggested that I try Dr. Perlmutter's office (there had been some sort of snafu in who was originally supposed to be covering for my very conscientious optometrist). I called Dr. Perlmutter's office, and not only did they agree to give me an appointment, they brought me in as soon as I could make it to their office that day--even though I was not their patient. Dr. Perlmutter, who practices with his son, examined me carefully-- including both visuals (eye chart) and "staining" my eye with some sort of dye to confirm his hypotheses. He then provided explanations, reassurances and medication--it was either a "cold sore" of the eye (herpes simplex), or a self-inflicted scratch from while I had been sleeping (since I've been having migraines, this seemed quite possible). He prescribed based on the assumption of the worse condition (herpes simplex), and gave me my first dose in the office. He also said I would likely feel much better by the next day, which was comforting. Finally, he gave me an appointment for follow-up four days later. All worked out as he had predicted, and by Monday (my return visit), my eye was clear. He then shared with me then that this infection can be hard to treat, if left too long. Again, I thanked him for taking me ASAP. On the way out, I asked him a completely unrelated question about cataract surgery, and he took the time to answer carefully. All in all, I would certainly return to see Dr. Perlmutter when I need to see an ophthalmologist again.

Excellent diagnostic from Dr. Perlmutter for my partial retinal separation. Seems to be cutting edge eye exam technology and I liked the Doctor's reassurances re my concerns about my vision...which after thorough testing, he said were nothing to be alarmed about. 7 years later, it's obvious he was absolutely right.
