New York Optical

I had my eye exam and glasses from here back in 2021. I had issues with my frames being too tight, but after 2 attempt to solve by flexing the frames, they just asked me to pick a replacement at no cost to me. I was very happy how they handled the situation. Have referred colleagues to this place since. Went for another exam yesterday (12/3/25) and was pleasantly surprised that Dr. O'Connell was still there. She is very thorough on her exam and explains the procedure as she goes through. Makes the whole process go smooth and relaxed. The staff were equally helpful. I think it was Usama who helped me with frames. Provided information upfront on which sets of frames were covered, which would be additional out-of-pocket. Helped with picking up a pair, no pushy sales to pick expensive ones. Matter of fact recommended the free (w/insurance) pair as a good fit. Once frames are selected, next comes the buffet list of enhancements with price and what gets covered based on your insurance. I ended up picking ones I felt was what I needed, some of which were not covered in whole. Very happy with the visit and the professionalism and courteousness of the entire staff.

I commend NY Optical for their excellent customer service and professionalism at my recent visit. Dr. O'Connell is very kind, knowledgeable and was eager to answer any questions that I had during my appointment. The entire office staff was friendly. Shoutout to Bilal for helping me to get situated with my pair of glasses and lens protection and explaining what my insurance costs were in addition to the Stewart's gift card. I will definitely be back for any future eye exams!

I had an eye exam today today with Dr.Oconnel. It's been several years since my last exam with another company however I've work glasses since I was Probably 8 years old. This doctor asked me questions, and performed tests, and did things that no other eye doctor has ever done. She was THE most thorough doctor I've ever sat down with in my life and I'm almost 40. I want to thank her and the level of professionalism and care she took today. It was amazing.

We have had great experiences with NY optical both for my visit, and most recently for my daughter's first eye exam. Their team is friendly and efficient and the Dr is thorough, Knowledgable, and very nice. Nothing but great things to say

I had an amazing experience at New York Optical. The entire staff was warm, professional and so very helpful!! Dr. O'Connell was an amazing guide in making sure that I understood what my choices were and what would make the most sense for my day to day needs. Elaina was absolutely wonderful in explaining all of the coverages and copays provided by my insurance plan. I highly recommend New York Optical and can't wait to pick up my new glasses!

I had my first eye exam in a very long time here last week. Christine was very knowledgeable and thorough in explaining everything regarding my eyes' health. All of the other office staff were friendly as well. Free Stewart's gift card for coming in too! Can't wait to have my next eye exam here.

I rarely write reviews but this eye doctor's office experience was the best I've had in all my years of seeing an eye doctor. I didn't wait longer than maybe 5 minutes upon arriving for my appointment. The doctor was so thorough, informative and personable, it was so refreshing. You can really tell she enjoys her work. Everyone that works there seemed happy and organized and professional. I'm so happy I switched over from that horrid mess of a place I used to go to. This is much more my vibe and the efficiency I expect and care I look for when it comes to my doctor visits. Thank you!

The owner Bill is very nice and helpful. Jessica took great care of me during my yearly eye exam. Love the curls. Dr. O'Connell answered all my questions, and is very friendly. I'm going to have all my eye glasses needs taken care by New York Optical.
